THIEVES AND ROBBERS
Friday – May 24, 2019, Iyar 19, 5779

Greetings precious and loved saints, loved by this Ministry and loved in an unfathomable way by our Lord and Savior and His Father. Welcome back to these teachings of The Truth from the Bible Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook, I encourage you to take a moment and share this teaching with your friends, and give me a heart of thumbs up. Come on, you can do it. The featured pictures this week will be of various outdoor scenes here in Maine. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud.
John 10:6-11 (KJV)
6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
The Word of God is our life and everything in the Word of God is designed to enhance and bring nothing but a victorious life to each and every child of God. The Word must be studied, received, believed, thought upon and confessed with nothing contrary, walking in love, and led of the Holy Spirit. Now, let’s pick up our study with verse seven from our text above. As we will see Jesus repeats Himself many times in this section of Scripture. We should not think for a minute that this repeating was for their benefit only. This repeating and focus is for our benefit, it is crucial information from the Throne of Heaven, for our welfare, for our walk of success in the Kingdom of God. Failure is not a testimony of the goodness of our God, it is a testimony of our failure to fully implement the Blood Covenant in our lives. God is never the problem and the devil is a problem only when we allow it.
The sheepfold is the Kingdom of God, the only way into the sheepfold is by the door who is Jesus. This has not changed in reality from the beginning. Jesus is the Word and man has always been required to believe and act upon the Word. When they did not in the Garden of Eden, they entered another kingdom with another god. The entry back into the Kingdom of God was by the door, the Word, who is Jesus. I hope we are all familiar with the following Scriptures, if so, they are a wonderful reminder, and if not a part of the foundation of faith.
Acts 4:12 (KJV)
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Romans 10:13 (KJV)
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
A door is a place, a way of legitimate entry, and Jesus is that door. The Blood Covenant that has been in the works from the Garden of Eden and the Day of Sin and Death and ratified by the Blood and victory of Jesus is fully available to all who are in Him. To be in Him means that He has been declared by name as Lord. In order to bring the Covenant into our lives we must know what is in the Covenant and then work the Covenant according to the laws of God. As we move into verse eight, let’s take a look at it in the Amplified Translation for it adds clarity.
John 10:8 (AMP)
8 All others who came [as such] before Me are thieves and robbers, but the [true] sheep did not listen to and obey them.
The King James Version makes it seem like everyone that ever came as a shepherd was a thief and a robber but what He is saying is that those who declared themselves as the door, the way into the Kingdom of God were thieves and robbers. These thieves and robbers were of the religious leadership but they in some way made access to God conditioned upon something they did or required of the people. In other words, they made themselves the door when in fact, in Truth, there is only one door and that is the Word of God, it is Jesus which means Jehovah saved (Hebrew equivalent is Joshua). Jesus finishes with the statement that those who were true sheep did not listen to or obey the false doors. Of course, in that sentence is the fact that there were those looking for a form of godliness who did listen and obey but they were not the true sheep, they were not Bereans.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
