NATURAL – CARNAL – SPIRITUAL
Thursday – May 23, 2019, Iyar 18, 5779

Greetings precious and loved saints, loved by this Ministry and loved in an unfathomable way by our Lord and Savior and His Father. Welcome back to these teachings of The Truth from the Bible Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook, I encourage you to take a moment and share this teaching with your friends, and give me a heart of thumbs up. Come on, you can do it. The featured pictures this week will be of various outdoor scenes here in Maine. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud.
John 10:6-11 (KJV)
6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
Yesterday as we were pursuing this study, I took us on a little side trip to think about and talk about why a person might not understand and that involved talking about the natural man, the carnal man, and the spiritual man. Most of us in the Kingdom of God are a mixture of the carnal and the spiritual but our overriding goal should be that of a spiritual man. Being a spiritual man does not preclude enjoying and partaking of carnal things, it has to do with focus and who (Holy Spirit or devils) or what is leading (carnal desires).
Romans 8:5-8 (KJV)
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Remember, God has given us all things richly to enjoy, all good things. He wants us to be having loads of fun. He also wants us to be focused on Him so as to be safe and not vulnerable to the wiles of the devil which bring stealing, killing, and destroying into our lives. When our focus is on the carnal and not God we are in effect at war with God. You have no doubt seen this right in your own family where a child, perhaps you or me, is in rebellion about something that you or the parent knows will lead to bad things. Do we want death in our lives or do we want life and peace? The life and peace of God or the death of the devil? The choice is ours. Death and life are in the power of our tongue not the tongue of God and not the tongue of our spiritual enemies. Listen to the voice of our Lord and Savior.
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
The flesh cannot please God and talking of being spiritually minded doesn’t by itself please God but faith pleases God. Faith is the start to pleasing God for without faith it is impossible to please God.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
True faith will always manifest in our lives. The manifestation will be the very visible evidence of the promises of God, the Covenant on full display for all to see. We are to be a walking display for the goodness, the Glory, of God. That happens one way and one way only, and that is by faith. Of course, in addition our motivations have to be right which is love, and we must be led of the Spirit of God. God wants all good things pouring into our lives, this shows His goodness and will lead to the enlargement of the Kingdom of God. Lord willing, I will pick up with verse seven tomorrow as we close out the week.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
