THE PROPHETIC VOICE – PART TWO
DO PROPHETS WALK THE LAND – ARE THEY RELEVANT
Sunday – June 30, 2019, Sivan 27, 5779

Welcome back my dear partners and friends to the second week of this new teaching series concerning the Prophet, and titled “The Prophetic Voice”. Last week we looked at two lengthy passages of Scripture to help us start to distinguish between the presence of the gift of prophecy as one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Office of Prophet. Where there is no “Prophetic Voice” there will be no advancement of the Kingdom of God. The God spoken message arriving through a person with the gift of prophecy will always build up, encourage, and comfort.
1 Corinthians 14:3-4 (KJV)
3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
The message of a person operating only in the gift of prophecy will always edify or build up the Church. This gift may be exercised one on one (called personal prophecy) as well as to the whole Church. I am now shifting gears to talk more specifically about the Office of Prophet and not only the gift of prophecy. Let’s all read the following passage very carefully and diligently.
Ephesians 3:4-5 (KJV)
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
The Old Testament saints starting in the Garden of Eden knew there was a Messiah coming who would restore all things but by and large the details were a mystery early on. Over time more and more details were given to identify the true Messiah. Revelation whether it be natural or supernatural has to follow a sequence. That is to say, a foundation has to be laid for what is to follow. In natural school for example we learn about counting, then simple adding and subtraction before we are introduced to algebra and so on. It is the same in the Spirit realm or supernatural realm. So, in the Scripture above we see that the unfolding of the mysteries of God to the Church as a whole will come by way of the Apostles and Prophets. For those persons or denominations who deny the very existence of Apostles and Prophets there will be a dead and stale doctrine. The uncovering or revelation of our God will continue forever.
Amos 3:7 (KJV)
7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
There is this idea that God is off doing stuff, moving in the earth and we have to watch for it and get in on it when we see or find it. This is not true. God always announces His intentions, His will, through the Prophets, and He always moves through people not independent of people. Our cry should not be “come Holy Spirit” but rather “Father what would you have me to do”? The Holy Spirit is already present, already within us. The Father is waiting for us to be obedient to say and do as He leads by His Spirit. He will confirm His Word, His will with signs following.
Mark 16:20 (AMP)
20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. Amen (so be it).
Our verse from Amos tells us, and we see this down through Scripture, that God does nothing except He reveal it to the Prophets first. What God wants to do should not be a mystery to the Church. The reason it is a mystery to the vast majority of the Church is that they are not paying any attention to the Prophets. If they would listen, repeat, and thank God for the things the Prophets speak we could move this thing along much faster. People are people, at the fallen core rebellious, and without seriously renewing the mind perpetually rebellious and wanting to go their own way with a future they prescribe not that of God.
Who is the Prophet in your life, in your Church? Do you know a Prophet? Do you understand that they see things that others do not? Do we, any of us, understand that anything that God is going to do in the earth must first be spoken by the Prophets. God does not have authority to just do things in the earth. When a man, man has authority in the earth, speaks the will of God then God is free to move according to that decree. Once the decree is made whether it be personal or national it must be followed by thanksgiving, strengthened by praise, and implemented by our submission (worship) to our part. Our praise mixed with thanksgiving is a declaring of the thing and His name that accomplishes it. For example, when we declare the Lord as our healer that is praise and it should always be mixed with thanksgiving for our healing (manifest or not) and our health.
I am hopeful that each of you are learning from this series about the Prophet and the importance of the Prophet in the Church. Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
