TRADITIONS, LIES, and TRUTH – PART THIRTY-THREE
GUARDING OUR HEART – PART THREE
Saturday – August 31, 2019, Av 30, 5779

Greetings my precious brother and sisters, saints of the Kingdom, children, sons and daughters of the Father in Christ Jesus. Welcome back to our Saturday series titled “Traditions, Lies, and Truth”. In this series my goal is to illuminate contaminated thinking that keeps us from victory in Christ Jesus. Jesus did not come and deal with the sin question so that we could have poverty with broken down bodies but to give us life as He and the Father know life in Heaven and really as He knew life in the earth. We have no record that Jesus was ever in poverty nor do we have a record that He missed ministry days due to sickness or disease. Since He is our prime example and we are commanded to do everything He did and even greater things, what is the problem? The problem pure and simple is that the gospel we are hearing, and thus the thoughts we have, the words we speak, and actions we take are not of God but traditions of men or doctrines of devils. And, yes, we learned the vast majority of it right in Church. The devil’s main seat of deception is in the Church and the main source of persecution is from the Church. Selah!
By way of review let’s take a moment and think about some of the things we have been studying the last two weeks in this series with the subtitle of “Guarding Our Heart”. First, it is our responsibility to guard our hearts, our thought life. God will not guard our hearts for that would violate our God given freewill. We choose! What have you chosen, what have I chosen? Have we chosen the better part or the easy part? Are we being good Berean’s and proving every word we see and hear by the Word of God?
Acts 17:10-11 (KJV)
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Are we being diligent to move forward in our knowledge of the Word of God so that the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding can show us (when we ask Him) how to navigate this world and advance the Kingdom?
2 Timothy 2:15-16 (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
The quality of our lives, our usefulness to the Kingdom of God is directly and totally dependent upon our diligence to get, keep, and meditate upon the pure Word of God.
Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Our hearts, our thought life, is established and maintained with diligence, (work in other words) and it determines our life. The lack of diligence will bring death into our lives in many areas not just our own premature physical death and perhaps even spiritual death. This is a very serious thing dear one. As we finish for this Saturday let’s carefully consider the following passage.
2 Peter 1:4-8 (KJV)
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Please, please, please notice verse four very carefully and don’t jump immediately to the word diligence. We have wonderful promises from God, what the Apostle Peter calls “exceeding great and precious promises” to escape the corruption of the world and partake of the divine nature. This partaking of the divine nature is for right here, right now, yes, today! This is not a sweet by and by thing, in fact almost nothing that Jesus died for is only for the sweet by and by excepting the glorified body. These promises are primarily for abundant, over the top, not just enough, but copious wealth and health now in this life. Our God is so, so, good! We are in the image and likeness of God, our spiritual part or immaterial part has the DNA of God Himself not something else, certainly not of angels, we are in the God class of beings and we are to partake in the fulness of that nature today. Just how much poverty or illness of any kind do you suppose God is partaking of today? Notice it takes diligence to build faith, to develop excellence, to acquire knowledge, to develop a self-controlled disciplined mind, to mature in patience, to become more like our Father (more like Jesus), to be friendly, and walk in love (agape). When we do this, we will not be barren nor unfruitful.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
