GUARDING OUR HEART – PART FOUR
Saturday – September 7, 2019, Elul 7, 5779
Greetings precious and diligent children, sons and daughters of our Father God. Welcome back to this Saturday series of Traditions, Lies, and Truth. I have been speaking about guarding our heart and I will continue in that vein today. Just as we would not purposely consume corrupted, contaminated, or spoiled natural food into our physical body we should be equally if not more diligent to avoid the same for the spiritual body. It is exponentially more important to avoid contaminated or corrupted information from entering our spiritual body than spoiled natural food from entering our natural body. As a reminder recall that everything that effects our natural world has its origins in the spirit realm. Words that we receive as the Truth but are corrupted such that they are contrary to the Word of God will eventually sow stealing, killing, and destroying into our spiritual and natural lives!
Pure Word is light on our path and give life, life as God knows life, that is zoe life. There is no curse in the zoe life, there is no curse in God’s life and thus in Him there should be no curse in our life. There is no aging in the spirit or immaterial man (soul and spirit) however until we get our glorified body like His (Jesus) we will age but it should be free of the curse otherwise. Corrupted Word, another gospel (not good news at all), is darkness and causes great stumbling, and with it stealing, killing, and destroying in our lives. Our spirit man is pure and made alive at salvation however our soul (mind, will, and emotions) remains very corrupt and wicked. It is our responsibility to renew our mind to the thoughts, words, and ways of God.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
So long as we are conformed to the world in our thinking we cannot prove, or know, the good, the acceptable, or perfect will of God. Is it any wonder that so many Christians are in the dark, stumbling about, and being beat senseless by the curse? The extent to which we renew our minds effects everything (yes, everything) in our lives. I am not talking about filling our mind and brain with information about God. I am talking about the law of displacement. This is when we totally displace and replace wickedness with the Word of God. Then we develop this knowledge of the Word of God into an unwavering faith. We purpose to change how we think, talk, and act. This does not happen because we show up at Church, but it is accomplished when we on purpose with the help of the Holy Spirit make His thoughts ours and His Words ours. Remember we are talking about guarding our heart (mind). Guarding what we think about, what we talk about, and how we act will change everything. It will change us first then everything around us from the curse to the blessing. What you and I are thinking about, talking about, and acting upon is what we really believe. Let me put it a little more clearly. Whatever, is going on in our lives is what we really believe or have faith in. Each of us need to take that truth and meditate it and humbly before the Lord ask Him to reveal the little foxes that have spoiled our vine and will continue to do so unless we identify them with the help of the Holy Spirit, repent of and root them out. We must change our mind, change our words, and on purpose cast those thoughts, words, and the old subsequent behaviors down.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (KJV)
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
It is impossible for any of us to take this message of guarding our minds too seriously. In any given day there are myriads of images (thoughts) that enter our consciousness (many are emerging from our subconscious based on various triggers). We have the capacity to screen and decide on those images (thoughts) every six seconds. Any image, any thought, contrary to the Word of God must be cast down, not accepted but expelled in the name of Jesus until we no longer have that recurring evil thought. The high things mentioned in the passage above are thoughts that we believe which are contrary to the Word of God and we have elevated above the Word of God. Just review the account of Adam and Eve in the Garden on the Day of Sin and Death. Verse five above (five the number of grace and glory) ends with the following “bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”. There are many words in the Bible that it is useful to translate in our minds to capture more of what is being said, more of what God wants us to know and walk in. The Word “Christ” for example can mean Messiah, Anointed One, and the Anointing. Messiah is the Lamb of God, Jesus. The Anointed One is Jesus plus the Anointing which is the Holy Spirit. The Anointing is the Holy Spirit. In our passage above I believe it can properly be translated as the Anointed One, but more specifically the Word and or the Anointing, the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
