TRADITIONS, LIES, and TRUTH – PART FORTY-ONE
HINDERING GOD – PART FIVE
Saturday – October 26, 2019, Tishrei 27, 5780

Greetings dear partners and friends of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. Our God is so very good. Welcome to this ongoing Saturday series titled “Traditions, Lies, and Truth” where I seek to illuminate what will bring and maintain the curse in our lives and what will bring and maintain the blessing in our lives. If you are reading this on Facebook, please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons. Come on, you can do it, this is not hard nor time consuming and you will be increasing the reach of the good news. The topic for this series ending today is the question; is it possible to hinder God. Another question might be as to whether it is possible to stop the plan of God. Now let’s get into our topic.
I have been talking about the children of Israel coming out of bondage and occupying the Promised Land. It should be abundantly clear that this is a picture of the Church today. First, we saw how they failed to occupy all that God had provided for them. Next we saw Moses get out ahead of God and delay the exodus from Egypt by thirty years. Now we are about to see them thwart the will of God by another forty years. Let us all give these things the most earnest heed. Now I will pick up our teaching with the spies having returned from the Promised Land and are giving their report. Ten of twelve gave an evil report, a report contrary to the will, the Word of God. Let us go ahead and listen to the other gospel, the evil report, preached by ten of the spies.
Numbers 13:26-33 (KJV)
26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
God had repeatedly told the Israelites that this was to be their land; He had given it to them. They would have to fight some battles, but He was going before them. Is this any different from the promises we the Church have from the Father? Do you feel overwhelmed by the world and its systems? Just as they had to focus on the promise of God and have the faith that He would perform His Word so do we. Their disobedience to the Word of God resulted in a wilderness experience and although God took care of their basic needs their wants were never addressed until the next generation went into the Promised Land. Are we just getting by, paycheck to paycheck? Let each of us consider our way and repent humbly before the Lord our God and ask Him for Wisdom to move forward in obedience. Not as the world moves forward but as God has commanded His children.
Fear (the belief that God will not perform His Word leads to disobedience), which is the opposite of love (obedience to the Word of God) caused the children of Israel to be disobedient. The fear is sin and the disobedience compounds it. As you will see God had already prepared the people on the other side of Jordan concerning His people. Examine the following Scripture concerning the two spies Joshua sent into the land.
Joshua 2:8-11 (KJV)
8 And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;
9 And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
11 And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
These people viewed the Israelites as giants, exactly the opposite of what Israel had thought. God has already prepared our enemies to fall before us as well, in Jesus name. We do not war against flesh and blood, but spiritual forces and we are well able in Jesus name. So, let’s look at one aspect of God’s response to the disobedience of the people.
Numbers 14:11-12 (KJV)
11 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?
12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.
God had not changed His mind about having a great Covenant nation in the place He had selected. The question was whether it would be this people or another. He is asking you and I the same question. Will you and I do the will of God that is before us or not? Will we enter into the Promised Land or not? Each one of us choose, help me Lord Jesus to always choose you, to always choose life, to always choose obedience to the Word, help me to love you Jesus. In the next passage Moses intercedes for the people and God pardons their iniquity. Pray for intercessors, sometimes we need them and do not even know it. Oh God, in your kindness raise up intercessors for me that I receive mercy and pardon until I have light, in Jesus name.
Numbers 14:19-20 (KJV)
19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.
20 And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
