LORD WHO IS IT?
Friday – October 18, 2019, Tishrei 19, 5780

Greetings friends, sons and daughters of the Father and kings in the Kingdom of God under the authority or Lordship of Christ Jesus. Each of us are freewill creations who by our own will subject ourselves to the will of God. God has never made anyone do anything and never will. Each of us choose our own course, it can be wonderous according to His will in the Kingdom or it can be disastrous going our own way. One may be thinking, well my life is not disastrous, what about when you compare it to what is possible in the perfect will of God?
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Jesus did not come to give us poverty of any kind in this world or that which is to come, it is His covenant that we be wealthy (yes, in property and cash) and that we walk in supernatural health free of the curse. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “love” and “share” buttons to partner with me in the spread of the gospel. The featured pictures this week have been scenic shots from the Ocean Point area on the coast of Maine and today as usual is of my beautiful bride and me. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today.
John 13:21-25 (KJV)
21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
23 Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
25 He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?
Jesus is being transparent with the disciples gathered and telling them ahead of time what is about to happen. Of course, this transparency has been going on since the Day of Sin and Death in the Garden of Eden to this very day. These disciples were hard of hearing (spiritual), they are carnal men and not tuned into the exact mission of Jesus. Are we tuned in? Just as Jesus had a special and unique mission so do each one of us dear saints of God. I don’t know what is worse than being betrayed in any of our lives, but betrayal must be at the top of the list. None of us want to think there is someone in our inner circle that would betray us but those people are there and if you have been around awhile this has happened to you. Perhaps in Church, a close friend, or a spouse. As we examine our text, we find the disciples perplexed, no one suspected Judas. After all Judas was a member of the team and the Ministry Treasurer.
The Apostle John is commonly referred to in Scripture as the disciple whom Jesus loved and we see it here. The word ‘loved’ in verse twenty-three is agape, the God kind of love. We know that God (John 3:16) and thus Jesus in His earthly ministry as an Anointed man loved (agape) all peoples. We find the Apostle Peter motioning that he (John) should ask the Master who was going to betray Him. John complies and asks Jesus who is going to betray Him. Jesus answers.
John 13:25-30 (KJV)
25 He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?
26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.
Never ever get the idea that Judas was predestined to Hell or that he is in Hell today. Those ideas would be antithetical to the rest of the Bible, our knowledge of the character of God, and not in our purview to judge. Up until the moment He took the sop from the hand of Jesus there was room for him to repent and take a different direction. There were lots of opportunity for this man to repent from the moment Jesus choose him to be one of the twelve. Even when Satan entered him there was time and room for repentance but he did not, at least not in this text. Who is Jesus talking to with the following statement; “That thou doest, do quickly”? Jesus is talking directly to Satan. It was night, physically dark, and spiritually dark when Judas left the “last supper”. This darkness would soon temporarily envelop Jesus over the next several hours, and then we would hear those triumphant words from the mouth of Jesus, It is finished!
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
