Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us prepare to engraft God’s Word for the glory of God.
Remember to pray for the governments of these United States. Today I am featuring the State of Montana and you will see the picture of the Governor’s Mansion, a map locating the State of Montana within the United States, and the Great State Seal of Montana. Montana was the 41st state admitted to the union on November 8, 1889 during the Presidency of Benjamin Harrison our 23rd President. In keeping with the fact that we, the United States, are a Covenant Nation with the only living God take a moment and read the preamble to The Constitution of the State of Montana.
The CONSTITUTION of the STATE OF MONTANA
PREAMBLE
We the people of Montana grateful to God for the quiet beauty of our state, the grandeur of our mountains, the vastness of our rolling plains, and desiring to improve the quality of life, equality of opportunity and to secure the blessings of liberty for this and future generations do ordain and establish this constitution.
Now let us return to our study of walking in Him.
Colossians 2:6 (KJV)
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
This idea of being “in him” is not a new idea, it has been present from the beginning. We are familiar with being in something long before we come to Christ. We perhaps have been in the Army or we are in medicine or aviation or another field of work. The more immersed that we are in the organization we have joined the more benefit we are to that organization and subsequently to ourselves. To work at its peak our approach must be selfless or unselfish toward the organization with which we are walking.
In the Garden of Eden they walked with God but then they started walking with the serpent and you can see how that all worked out. It is no different in your life or mine, when we choose to walk with the serpent we invite the curse lock stock and barrel into our lives. When we choose to walk with God we invite The Blessing into our lives lock stock and barrel. Which choice do we figure will give the best result? When sin entered mankind needed a Savior. God could not and would not just wipe the sin away and act like it never happened giving Adam another chance because the law of sin and death was in place. But praise the Lord since the Cross and Resurrection we are free of the law of sin and death. God had a plan but it took Him some 2000 years to find a man with whom He could make a Blood Covenant and legally reverse the curse of sin and death.
Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
That man was Abram later renamed Abraham. The great nation spoken of is the Jewish people the nation of Israel. Now carefully notice and meditate verse three above. Abraham is the first Jew, the father of Israel, and he is the father of the Church. When any person blesses (empowers) Israel, God Himself will see to it that that person is blessed or empowered in their lives. On the other hand should a person curse a Jew, a group of Jews, or Israel itself then God Himself allows the curse to be fully functional in that persons life in full accordance with this law of God (sowing and reaping). Each of us decide which side of this we will stand, there is not a neutral position. A neutral position is not a position of blessing which is empowerment and so the net result is curse and we invite of our own hand the curse into our lives.
Of utmost importance to us is the latter part of verse three in which we see that because of Abraham all families of the earth shall be blessed (empowered). Because of Abraham a legal avenue could be developed to bring Jesus, wipe out sin, and redeem us spirit, soul, and body. Notice the terminology of verse three; “in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed”. This is like the admonition we saw in Colossians 2:6 of walking in Him (Jesus). How did Abraham walk? He walked in faith. He had to be selfless and walk with Gods’ agenda in mind, obedient to the Word of God which is love. We have to walk exactly the same way, we cannot please God without walking in faith, and our faith is powered by love or obedience to God. Genesis 12:3 is telling us about the coming of Jesus, the Messiah, the Anointed One, and the Anointing (Holy Spirit). God told Abraham that anyone could receive The Blessing because of the obedience of Abraham.
