A NEW CREATURE – PART THREE
Sunday – February 2, 2020, Sh’vat 7, 5780
Greetings precious and dear saints of God and welcome back to this unnamed Sunday Bible Teaching series. I am always so thrilled to share the Word of God and I pray that you are thrilled to receive the Word of God. None of Scripture is of any benefit to any of us until we hear it, receive it with all willingness of heart, believe it, and act upon it. When we do, wow, all things are possible and we don’t have to settle for any of the devils’ curse, the curse brought by sin. None of it just falls on us. Once we make Jesus Lord we are by faith, love, and leadership of the Holy Spirit more than conquerors’ in every situation and time.
Romans 8:37 (KJV)
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Now, let’s read our text for the last two weeks and read it aloud to build our faith. It will build our faith if we hear it, are focused, receive it, believe it and are ready to act upon it.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
A person must be “in Christ” to be “a new creature”. As we have discussed being in Christ is our choice and although salvation is available to all, God does not make anyone be a Christian, we choose. As we prepare to move forward let me point out that we are indeed new creatures in Christ Jesus, we are not like Adam. Jesus was the last Adam.
1 Corinthians 15:45 (KJV)
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
John 14:10 (ESV)
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
Adam was in the Father like Jesus but there was no provision for sin in place. In loving kindness and mercy God made a temporary provision for sin with the shedding of innocent animal blood until Jesus could come. A sinless man (Adam and Eve) had sinned and it would require a sinless man to pay for that sin. Adam and Eve went from life (life as God has it including eternal life) to death and so did Jesus. Because Jesus died unjustly to take our sin and give us His righteousness He was raised from death to life, the curse reversed, and in Him we also are raised from death (before salvation) to life. We are now a new creature in Christ Jesus with Him as a safety net, if we sin, we are not subject to the law of sin and death but we enjoy the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:2 (KJV)
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Isn’t the Word of God just so wonderful!? Jesus is the Word of God and He is wonderful! He did not need a Savior but we needed one desperately. He left Heaven to come into this dreadful place (by comparison) and paid the price of our redemption. Oh, what a Savior. As I close for today and I am guessing you can see that we are far from done with this 2nd Corinthians passage. Take a look at the following verse in closing.
Galatians 6:15 (KJV)
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
Here we see the same Greek word for “creature” as we see in our primary text. We the Church, the ecclesiae, are a new creature, a new creation, like none before and there will be none to follow. Before the Cross of Jesus there were the heathen and those who worshiped God primarily the Hebrews (Jews) and they were kept in relationship with God by the blood of innocent animals looking forward to the precious Blood of Christ Jesus. Now in Christ Jesus there is a third group of people, the Church.
1 Corinthians 10:32 (KJV)
32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
