A NEW CREATURE – PART FIVE
Sunday – February 16, 2020, Sh’vat 21, 5780
Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this very enlightening, and empowering Sunday Bible Study series. Today I will be continuing our study under the general topic of being “a new creature”. There is no substitute for knowing who we are in Christ Jesus. It is paramount to also know what is expected of us and how to accomplish it. In addition, we must know our enemies and how they operate. We should never suffer a loss with this knowledge in hand, unwavering faith in the Word of God, walking in love which is doing the Word of God, and being led of the Holy Spirit. We are not in the world to win some battles and lose some but to win every battle. Jesus obtain His victory and ours at the Crucifixion, in Hell, in the Resurrection, and on the Day of Pentecost. Jesus put all demonic forces to an open shame. Jesus took sin and the curse out of the way.
Colossians 2:13-15 (KJV)
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
We are now far above (in Him) every principality, power, might, and dominion be they holy (angels) or evil (devils).
Ephesians 1:19-23 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
The idea behind the phrase “far above” in verse twenty-one is not like floor to ceiling but earth to the farthest galaxy. Some may think I am down a rabbit trail and way off course but I am not, I am on the Holy Spirit led trail. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud.
2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Today for just a bit I will deal with “old things” and “new”. As we move forward let’s look at the seventeenth verse in a different Bible translation.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (HCSB)
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, ⌊he is⌋ a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come.
This translation gives a little different prospective in that “old things” are passed away and “new things” have come. Some of you have heard me speak many times about this word “things” and how in many cases we can substitute “word” for “thing”. Consider the following example.
Genesis 18:14 (KJV)
14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
In the preceding verse we could accurately say “Is any word too hard for the LORD?” The word “thing” here is the Hebrew word dābār according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary meaning; word, a matter (situation), matter as in physical matter, speaking, or to arrange. Words, spoken words, even thoughts (predominant in which we have faith) have been shown in physical brain and quantum physics research to change the architecture of the brain and the proteins produced either facilitating the curse or the blessing. Our words bring change, changes in arrangements, changes in the order of things, and changes in relationships. The devil, our old father, had it arranged for us to go to Hell but our words of salvation changed that arrangement to Heaven with our new Father God. We have a new order of things in salvation with God being first, and the things of the spirit, not the things of the flesh and deceptions of the devils. Wow, what a change of trajectory, what a change from death to life, from a life of stealing, killing, and destroying to abundance. Wow, what a wonderful deal!
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
