NOW SPEAKEST THOU PLAINLY

Greetings to our dear and precious friends and partners and welcome back to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment right now to share this teaching to expand the reach of this Ministry. The featured scenic picture today is courtesy of Joe Getchell Jr. a friend of this Ministry. God is so good to give us revelation of His Word, light to live in and by. Revelation, light, comes to those who seek, receive, believe, and do.
Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV)
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
When we are truly in faith, we will do. If faith without works is dead, faith with works is alive. I for one want a living faith.
James 2:17-20 (KJV)
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of John and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 16:28-33 (KJV)
28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
The time for Jesus to go to the Cross, descend into Hell, preach to the captives in the Bosom of Abraham, be Resurrected, and restored as God to the right hand of the Father is at hand. As you know, much of Jesus’ preaching, teaching, recorded in the four gospels uses allegories (metaphors, stories), called a parable, to express spiritual truths. Listen to the Apostle Paul from the Book of Romans.
Romans 1:20 (ESV)
20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
As we turn our attention to verses twenty-nine and thirty, we find the disciples responding to Jesus’ discourse. In verse twenty-nine they acknowledge that Jesus is speaking plainly and without illustrations. In Biblical Numerology number twenty-nine has to do with departure, exactly what He has been talking to them about, His departure. Now, verse thirty is interesting and Jesus’ response. Thirty is the number of the Blood of Jesus. Hopefully, you can see how these (29 & 30) fit together in our text. Shortly after His Blood is shed, He is departing but will soon send another.
As one reads verse thirty and Jesus’ response in verse thirty-one and following, we see that the disciples thought they were in a different place spiritually then was the reality. They thought they were much stronger than the reality would prove in just a few hours. Dear saints, each and every one of us must be honest and sincere before God asking Him to show us where we are strong and where we are weak and how to increase both. We cannot become too strong. No matter how strong or weak we are, He know exactly how we can increase so that where we are strong, we become stronger and where we are weak, we can become strong. The disciples tell Jesus that He knows all, and they are confident that He is always right and that He is truly from God. Look at verse 31.
John 16:31 (AMP)
31 Jesus answered them, Do you now believe? [Do you believe it at last?]
In today’s vernacular this might be said as: really? Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
