AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

POWER OVER ALL
Greetings to all of the dear friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. God is so good precious saints. Welcome back to this powerful, illuminating, and empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment and share this teaching to broaden the reach of this Ministry, and the Truth. The featured picture of Donna and me was taken a few weeks before our wedding in May 2019 at Celebrate Jesus Church of God (then Solid Rock COG). Now, let’s turn our attention to the primary Bible text for this teaching and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 17:1-3 (KJV)
1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
In just a few hours Jesus will surrender to the ruling Jewish religious leaders and the government of Rome and be nailed to the Cross between two thieves. Jesus will be made sin upon the Cross and will die spiritually being separated from the Father and then He will surrender His spirit man dying physically. He will descend into Hell there to be tormented. BUT, by the innocent Blood of the Lamb, His own Blood, and the Words of His testimony He is found innocent and taken into the Bosom of Abraham. He preaches the gospel to those Old Testament saints held captive in the Bosom of Abraham, they receive Him, and He and they are Resurrected from the dead. Jesus takes His innocent Blood to the Mercy Seat of Heaven, the Ark of the Covenant, where it speaks forever in the presence of the Father of our righteousness in Him.
In John 17:2 Jesus says on the other side, before the Cross that the Father has given Him Power over all flesh. That world ‘power’ is the transliterated from Greek to English word exousia according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary meaning to have authority (dominion) or jurisdiction. On this side of the Cross Jesus tells the gathered disciples just before His ascension the same thing except that He is giving that authority to us, just as was done in the beginning. Let’s look at both.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Bold added)
Mankind was given full authority or dominion in the earth and then He gave us the Blessing (Power) to back up the authority exercised in faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit. We were not created as automatons (robots) but with a freewill to do the will of God or not. True love (agape) cannot exist without freewill. Now to Matthew twenty-eight where the word translated as power is again actually authority or dominion.
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Any parent, supervisor, etc. knows that having authority and having control are two very different things. Jesus is the head of the Church and He gives instructions, commands to the Church, and to each of us individually. Unlike the human body which has not choice but to respond to the head we the children of God do have a choice. Seems we make the wrong choice all too often. Thank God for mercy, grace, and repentance with forgiveness. Jesus is saying in our primary text and in Matthew 28 that He has all authority. However, Jesus will not make us do anything and the devil cannot make us do anything. We alone chose our destiny. God has an over the top plan for each life but He does not make us follow it. We choose. Why do we choose wrong? As I end for today, basically there are four things that call or alure us astray. They are the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye, pride of life, and unforgiveness. Of course, the demons are neck deep in the process as well. Let us, each one of us, right now, examine ourselves (judge ourselves before the Lord) and correct all that is wrong. Let us determine to give His authority, the Word, first place by far.

2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
