GIFTS – PART FORTY-FIVE
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT – PART SIX

Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment to share this teaching to expand the reach of this Ministry, the Truth. You have joined the Friday teaching series titled “Gifts” and I am currently dealing with the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. According to the Smart Lookup Dictionary a gift is a thing given willingly to someone without payment; it is a present. We have not earned or in any other way made a payment for any gift from God. God gives them willingly to us without payment of any kind. When we are born again (saved, receive eternal life) the Holy Spirit comes to live within twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week forever. We are then eligible to receive and Jesus in fact commanded that we be baptized in the Holy Spirit when we are, we will speak in other tongues (prayer language) and receive one or more of the gifts of the Spirit. (Bold added)
Acts 1:4-8 (KJV)
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. (Bold added)
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
It seems clear that Jesus is saying that the baptism of the Holy Spirit imparts supernatural, wonder working power and the ability to be an effective witnesses. An effective witness, like Jesus, moves in power. This is the Anointing of God. Put your own name into the following Scripture.
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
The Anointing that came with the baptism of the Holy Spirit empowered Jesus for doing good and for healing and He does the same for us today. The disciples did seek God for the promise of the Holy Spirit and were filled as evidenced by speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:4 (KJV)
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Now, let’s turn our attention back to the nine gifts of the Spirit. Last Friday I discussed the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge. Let’s review the following passage of Scripture.
1 Corinthians 12:8-11 (KJV)
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
The third gift listed by the Apostle Paul is faith. This is a special gift of faith, not the measure of faith (Romans 12:3) we all have received. This is a faith above the level the empowered or gifted individual has attained by exercise of their own faith. In the following translation it is referred to as special faith.
1 Corinthians 12:9 (TLB)
9 He gives special faith to another, and to someone else the power to heal the sick.
This ‘special faith’ is faith beyond that individual’s personal development and is sufficient for the need or task that is God’s will to accomplish. We all have faith; it is a fruit of our spirit man. God expects us to develop to great faith. Without faith we cannot please Him. The reason for that is that we can’t get anything done for the Kingdom of God. This does not mean we are to sit back and say, well let so and so who has the gift of special faith do it. We are all to build our faith and accomplish wonderful things for the Kingdom of God.
Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
To believe and to have faith are the same thing. Why are we slack? We need to start walking in the miraculous, start expecting it. Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
