FINISHED WORK

Greetings to all who have come to this blog and welcome to this Holy Spirit directed Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as you possibly can to expand our reach, to expand the reach of the Truth. The featured picture today was provided by a wonderful friend of this Ministry, Joe Getchell Jr. We all seem to act and think like the status quo is what we will have forever. Not so dear ones. Let us seek every day to redeem (make the best use of our time) our time.
Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT)
15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.
16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
This life will soon be over whether Jesus comes in our lifetime or not and after that the judgment. Have you, have I, given any thought to the coming judgment? Now, let’s focus our attention upon our primary text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 17:4-6 (KJV)
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
Yesterday I left off during a discussion of Jesus telling the Father that He had finished the work He was sent to do. As we noted yesterday, in time, He had not accomplished the main objective of His coming. Certainly, all of the good works and healings were wonderful for the people of that time but it did nothing to cure the sin, death, curse, problem. Sin had to be dealt with for us be a part of the family of God. The Serpent brought sin, death, and curse to mankind and all of creation by deception. Adam and Eve however are not guiltless. With sin came death, both spiritual and physical as well as the curse, which is the polar opposite of the blessing. Jesus was made sin so that we could be made righteous, the righteousness of God. Jesus took the curse so that all who would receive Him could receive the blessing and again walk in the blessing. Now, let’s return to the Scriptures I presented at the end of yesterday’s teaching.
Revelation 1:5 (KJV)
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Those who receive Jesus as Lord and Savior have their sins washed away, are cleansed, are made righteous, by the Blood of Jesus. Rejoice in the following.
Romans 5:9 (KJV)
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Thank you, thank you Jesus!
Romans 5:19-21 (KJV)
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Adam made all sinners however by one man, Jesus Christ, we can all be made righteous, have the same standing with the Father as Jesus. Wow!
1 John 3:8 (KJV)
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (bold added)
All that was brought on mankind by the deceptions of the Serpent that day in the Garden of Eden is completely destroyed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
We are all to familiar with the wares of the devil, let’s become increasingly aware and participate fully in the work of Christ who gave us eternal life, life as God knows life, which is over the top abundant. And to boot, good bye curse!
Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
We are still dealing with, resisting, the curse but we do not have to receive it, take it. We resist the curse but we take or receive the blessing. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. I want to take a moment as I have ended this teaching to remind everyone to prepare for the November elections. Know the platforms of the two parties. Get voter guides from good Christian sources. The choices this time are as stark as at any time in our lifetimes between light and dark, good and evil. Choose the light of Scripture and God’s Word concerning what is good.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
