THE GREATER THINGS – PART FOUR

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this Sunday series currently exploring the “greater things” Jesus said we shall do. Please take a moment right now, yes, now, to share this teaching to expand the reach of this Ministry but more importantly to extend the reach of the Truth. Remember, no matter what is going on in your life or my life, God is always good and He is nothing but good. He is not the author of anything associated or connected to the curse. The devil(s) only come to steal, kill, and destroy, and then only with our permission.
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
The thief, the devil(s) never comes with a blessing (they don’t have any) but with the curse. It may be our unknowing permission but none the less we opened the door.
Deuteronomy 28:14-15 (KJV)
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee
Who went aside from God’s Word? Who would not listen to the Word of God? Who would not keep the Word of God before their eyes? Who would not do the Word of God? This highlights how critical it is to judge ourselves daily, even many times a day, and ask the Lord to reveal any deception, any sin, in our lives. Repentance is always the way of safety.
Luke 13:1-5 (KJV)
1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Well now, does any of this have anything to do with the need to do the things Jesus did and the greater things?
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Of course, it does! If we were actually doing Deuteronomy 28, we would not have the messes we find ourselves in but, no, we want to go our own way. We don’t want to take the blame for anything, examine ourselves, and repent. At least some of the “greater works” we are to do I believe are found in Isaiah chapter sixty-one. Last week we had started a review of verse four.
Isaiah 61:4-5 (KJV)
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
Who is “they”? The ‘they’ is us, those who will receive the Anointing of the Lord and do with the Anointing as we are led of the Holy Spirit. It is not Jesus who is doing these things, it is the obedient in Zion, the body of Christ. Because of Jesus all who believe are to do the works He did (God through Him and now God through us) and the greater works. We can do this because He got back full authority and the release of the Blessing to all who are in Him.
Isaiah 61:1-2 (KJV)
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD…
This is a Messianic passage which Jesus read and is recorded in the Book of Luke. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon us now to do these works which Jesus did, an ongoing assignment to all who are saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
