A FRUITFUL BRANCH
Tuesday – February 18, 2020, Sh’vat 23, 5780
Greetings to our dear friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries International and The Three Minute Word blog. God is so good dear saints of God. Welcome back to this in depth, powerful, life changing Bible Study of the Book of John. If we are tired of what the devil is dishing out, let’s determine to study the Bible and do what we find written therein. This is the way of salvation, His salvation. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud.
John 15:1-3 (KJV)
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Jesus taught His disciples and others about spiritual things using the natural world as the illustration. This natural or physical world is a reflection of what exists in the spiritual. Of course, this present natural world is terribly corrupted with the curse and death. But the outline of the glory from which it came can be clearly seen. We can with the eye of the spirit gaze with excitement into the spirit realm. Listen to the following verse.
Romans 1:20 (TLB)
20 Since earliest times men have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power. So they will have no excuse [when they stand before God at Judgment Day].
No one leaves this physical life to stand before God in the judgment with a valid excuse that they did not know, all will have known and all will be held accountable. The thing is, many would rather have their ears tickled by false religion or the lies of the devil (all the same thing). However, there was a day that they knew and knowingly turned away spurning the light and embracing darkness. When Moses ascended the Mount of God (Horeb or Sinai) for forty days, he was shown many things including the Tabernacle in Heaven (spiritual) and the one in earth (physical) was to mirror it.
Hebrews 8:5 (KJV)
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
The point is that all the natural examples that Jesus uses to teach, illustrate the spiritual, as does our current text about the vine and its fruit. Now, let’s get back to our text. Jesus is the “true vine”, the only vine to eternal life, and God the Father is the owner of the vineyard (Kingdom of God). Let me ask a question for us all to ponder. What determines the quality and quantity of fruit produced, eggs produced, wool produced and so on? There are many factors however directly to the point is the environment of the producer (vine, tree, hen, sheep and so on), and the quality of the feed. Does it make a difference where and with whom you hang out? Does it make a difference what we hear? Does it matter what we hear on Sunday morning or study in our private times with the Lord at home? The resounding answer is yes, yes, and yes! We should not and really cannot avoid encounters with the world but we must never agree with the world and steadfastly maintain our belief in the Word of God. There is lots being said in the world and in Church that we do not need to hear and should not allow it to become a part of us. Corrupted thinking will seriously limit the quantity and quality of spiritual and physical fruit in our lives.
Do you think this was a serious matter to Jesus and to the Father? Of course, it is paramount. We need to study the pure Word of God as well as attend and be a part of a Church that does not compromise the pure Word of God. In another place the Word tells that we shall know them by their fruit, we know all peoples, saint and sinner alike, by their fruit.
Matthew 12:33 (KJV)
33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
In the preceding Scripture we are the tree, is our fruit good or is it corrupt by the standard of the Word of God?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
