PURGED
Wednesday – February 19, 2020, Sh’vat 24, 5780

Greetings to our dear friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries International and The Three Minute Word blog. God is so good dear saints of God. Welcome back to this in depth, powerful, life changing Bible Study of the Book of John. If we are tired of what the devil is dishing out, let’s determine to study the Bible and do what we find written therein. This is the way of salvation, His salvation. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us encouraging feedback and to increase the reach of this gospel. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud.
John 15:1-3 (KJV)
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
What an interesting week so far and how instructive. God is so good. Our Teacher the Holy Spirit is so wonderful to lead us into all the Truth, the way of abundance, the way of victory. There is no defeat in God so when we suffer defeat it means we thought we had a better way and got off His path. Our flesh and particularly our emotions don’t like what the Word says but dear ones it is the way of victory. Do we want victory in every area of life possessing every promise of God, every bit of His salvation, or do we prefer to do our own thing and continue in defeat? This Covenant ratified by the eternal Blood of Jesus established our position in Christ Jesus and right to life as God knows life. I suspect that life as God knows life is pretty good, don’t you? The discharge of our obligations under the Covenant brings the benefits of the Covenant into our lives, natural and spiritual. Recall that the main issue is obedience (agape love) to the Word of God. Anything less reaps the whirlwind in our lives, the curse and death on steroids dear ones. The answer to all things is in the Word of God. Let us study the Word to think like the Word, speak like the Word, and do like the Word and subdue our flesh. When we do, victory after victory is ours, 100% guarantee.
Jesus is telling us as we continue with verse two of our text that branches that don’t bear fruit are taken away and those who do are pruned to produce more fruit. To be clear, the vine is Christ Jesus, the Word of God, and the branches are you and me. The vine does not produce fruit but the branches. However, the vine or tree is necessary to the branches. Branches cannot and do exist independent of the vine or tree. If a branch is taken away it is no longer connected to its only source of life, Christ Jesus. This is very serious dear ones. The question that may come up is this. Does one lose or forfeit their salvation when they are unfruitful? They do not forfeit or lose their salvation but they are moved aside and are not part of a healthy tree. One of the things that we in the body of Christ must do is intercede for an unfruitful brother or sister. Remember, we are kings and priests in the Kingdom of God and a main function of a priest is to stand between a person and the judgement of God obtaining mercy for a season. Consider the following wonderful passage.
Luke 13:6-9 (KJV)
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
This is intercession. Thank God for the people God has brought into our lives who intercede on our behalf day in and day out. I thank the Lord for those people in my life who have interceded for me from my conception until this very day. As I close for today let’s consider a passage of Scripture commonly associated with the Communion Table. Disobedience to the Word results in poor to no fruit and opens us to the curse and death. Disobedience is trampling the Body and Blood of Jesus underfoot.
1 Corinthians 11:27-30 (KJV)
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
Let us repent and move into the fulness of our salvation through obedience to the Word, the leadership of the Holy Spirit and produce abundant fruit.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
