A LITTLE MORE PEACE
Greetings to the saints of God and those who are pre-saints of God. We welcome all to The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment right now to share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach of the Truth. The featured picture this week again like last week is illustrating Jesus’ appearance among His disciples after the Resurrection. I will be spending a little more time today on the topic of peace. I talked, taught, about ‘peace’, the peace of God, our peace last week and yesterday. I believe there is a very important concept to be inculcated (instilled) into our thinking, our knowledge, that extends to other areas of our spiritual understanding. One of the things that is virtually absent from the Church at large is who we are in Christ Jesus. The devil(s) have not lost sight of who we are, however, they have done an outstanding job of robbing us of this knowledge. So long as we do not understand who we are, what we are, what our potential is, the extent of our authority and the Power backing that authority, we are of very little threat to the kingdom of darkness. What do you say we go about the business of changing all of that for the glory of God? Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:19-21 (KJV)
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
As you will recall, the Resurrection of Jesus occurred just a few hours ago. Just three days ago Jesus hung on the Cross shedding His precious Blood giving all of mankind the option to be redeemed out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God. He took the curse of sin in His body so we do not have to suffer the curse of sin in our bodies, by His stripes we were healed. He has been to Hell so that we don’t have to go. He preached the gospel to those captive in the Bosom of Abraham until He, the Messiah, could come and lead them home. At His resurrection these were also resurrected and Jesus Himself escorted them into the presence of the Father. He has appeared to Mary Magdalene. And He has taken His Precious Blood to the Mercy Seat of Heaven. Now, Jesus, the Risen Savior, fully restored as God, appears in the midst of His disciples who are hiding in a locked building due to fear of the Jews. The Jews spoken of are the ruling traditional religious leaders.
As He appears in the midst of this fearful group of disciples His first words are “Peace be unto you”. These disciples are about to be born again. No one in the Old Testament, under the Old Covenant, was born again, their spirit man was dead, separated from God. The God kind or level of peace was not possible since Adam until now. Peace is a fruit of our spirit, which we obtained of the Holy Spirit, from our Father.
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
In verse twenty-two the word “Spirit” should be with a small ‘s’ for it is speaking of our spirit. God has given us limitless potential in many areas, identical to Him, this being just one. Remember God’s original intent is restored and then some in Christ Jesus.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
We have the authority in the earth, far above all other authority.
Genesis 1:28 (KJV)
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
God has given us the Blessing which is the Power of God to back up that authority. How many reading this believe this even though it is right out of the Bible? Look, God breathed (Spirit) of Himself into us giving us an exact duplicate of His spirit (spiritual DNA) and soul and placed that in a physical body.
Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Tell me again, why we are bowing to the god of this world? Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
