AS OUR LORD
Thursday – October 10, 2019, Tishrei 11, 5780

Greetings my precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this empowering study of the Book of John. As I have said before these teaching, the Word of God in general, is only empowering when it is received, believed, kept in the midst of our hearts, and spoken in faith, in love (agape). None of us must never forget, lose sight of the Truth, that our entire life (now and eternity) is determined by our response to the Word of God. Another foundational Truth is that God is good and any bad stuff is not put there by God nor is it a failure of God. We have in one way or another sanctioned (authorized) or given permission for every bit of the curse that is established in our lives. The pictures this week will be of various scenes here in Maine except for Friday which will be of Donna and me, the leaders of this Ministry. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us encouraging feedback and to expand the reach of the gospel. Now, let us turn our attention to our primary Bible text for our study in the Book of John.
John 13:15-17 (KJV)
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
Yesterday we left off focused on verse sixteen and the idea that the servant (sons who serve by choice) is not above the Master but is to be equal to the Master. We are not talking about Jesus seated now fully God and fully man at the right hand of Majesty on High in Heaven. I am talking about the man, Christ Jesus, who walked the earth, Anointed of the Holy Spirit. The man who only said what the Father said, only did what He saw the Father doing, and had faith that the Father would do the works. Let’s review the following passage.
Matthew 10:23-26 (KJV)
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
We find in this passage recorded as led of the Holy Spirit by Matthew that the disciple (you and me) are not above the Master but that it is enough that we be as the Master or Lord. Notice that when we are as the Master that persecution will be part and parcel of our life. Persecution is pressure, it is not being beat up and killed. We can walk away just like our Master, our Lord, did until the time He allowed Himself to be taken to the Cross. Fear will come but we are to resist fear and not think in fear, talk in fear, nor react or act upon fear at any time. Let’s see what Dr. Luke has to say on this topic.
Luke 6:39-41 (KJV)
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
We are to seek after sight, we are to continually judge ourselves comparing our thoughts, words, and actions with the Word of God. Here we see that with maturity comes a standing on a par with Jesus, our Master. Spiritual maturity of course is what all of us should be striving to attain and should attain well before we go on to Heaven. I will end for today with the following passage.
John 15:19-21 (KJV)
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
Again, we see that with maturity, with being like the Master comes persecution. This is what we have seen nonstop in the ministry of Jesus, our Master, our Lord. Persecution is not harm it is pressure, unbelief, and ridicule. Persecution comes from the world and comes for they know not God. Consider that much persecution comes from the religious community and Jesus refers to them as part of the world. Finally (for today) in verse seventeen (number of victory) that if we know these things, we will be happy. If we don’t, we won’t.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
