BELIEVE ON THE SON OF GOD
Monday – May 13, 2019, Iyar 8, 5779
Greetings dear partners, and friends of Eastern Gate Ministries International and The Three Minute Word publication. Today I will be continuing this powerful and insightful Bible Study of the Book of John. There is no substitute for the Word of God and insight into the Word of God. The Word of God is the only reliable, unchanging, unshakeable foundation for our lives. Now, let us turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading it aloud.
John 9:35-38 (KJV)
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
As you will recall we are nearing the end of the account of the man born blind whom Jesus healed on the Sabbath. We are now at the point where the Jews (the Pharisees) have reviled the man and thrown him out of the Synagogue. Jesus heard that the man had been cast out of the Synagogue and goes to find the man. Jesus then asks the man if He believes on the Son of God. The man healed of physical blindness confesses that he does not know who the “Son of God” is but if pointed out he was ready to believe upon Him. I in this statement we see a dawning of spiritual sight in the place of spiritual blindness. Likewise, there was a time that we were walking in darkness and the light of the gospel, the good news of forgiveness and redemption, came unto and into us. In a moments time like this man we who were blind suddenly were not blind and could see clearly. Thank God we like this man chose the Son of God stepping into the light never to return to darkness. This man had seen the great light which came into the world from Heaven to redeem all who will chose to be redeemed. This man, and hopefully you, have chosen this great light and are fully secure in the Kingdom of God.
Our Lord Jesus answers the man saying not only have you seen the Son of God but that is who I am. There was a day when He said that to us as well. This man is seeing Jesus on both the physical and spiritual level. We are all without excuse for we have seen Him in the spirit many times, and been given many chances by the great expansive mercy of God. Let our response be exactly the same as this man who was blind but now sees (just as in the song Amazing Grace), “I believe, and he worshipped him”. “I believe” is the faith declaration and the worship is the vow of submission, a declaration that He is Lord, lord of our life. Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Feel free to share your salvation story with this ministry, the account of how you exchanged Hell for Heaven, a life of deception and pain for an abundant life in Christ Jesus. All of that and much, much, more was bought at the Cross and evil was defeated once and for all in the bowels of Hell itself. It was bought for us, for you, for me, the Word (Jesus before the womb of Mary) did not need a Savior but we needed one most desperately. The Covenant sealed in blood with man starting in the Garden on the Day of Sin and Death demanded God send a Savior. The blood of many animals for four-thousand years memorialized and prophesied the coming of the Messiah, the One who would take away the sins of the world not just cover them. God found a man by the name of Abraham who would enter into Blood Covenant for mankind. On the same day, the Word, and the Eternal Spirit entered into the same Blood Covenant with the Father. On that day (Genesis 15) and the day the Covenant was tested (Genesis 22) an irrevocable Blood Covenant was in place that would crescendo at the Cross of Calvary. Albeit an awful sight (Calvary) in the natural, to the natural eye when the three days were done all of Heaven sang with exuberant joy and victory even the very throne of God, God the Father Himself. The keys of Hell and death are in the Hands of Jesus! All of mankind, we are freewill creations of God in His image and likeness, can chose for ourselves Heaven or Hell, spiritual death or life. What have you chosen? Jesus Himself upholds all things by the power of His Word, He will honor our choices, many times with tears streaming down His face.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
