DECREE, PRAY, ASK, DESIRE
Thursday – March 5, 2020, Adar 9, 5780

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this engaging and course correcting Bible Study of the Book of John. Our course is corrected only if we have ears to hear, that is we choose to not just hear but focus and allow the Holy Spirit to impart revelation knowledge of what is being said. Once we have received it, we choose to believe it, speak it, and walk in it by faith. The featured picture today is of Donna and me on our wedding day, May 25, 2019. I suppose at some point I will have to stop using these pictures but they are wonderful at least to us. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us feedback and to expand the reach of this Ministry. God is so good my friends. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Bible Study for today by first reading our primary text aloud.
John 15:7-10 (KJV)
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
Notice the second half of the seventh verse above telling us that when we abide (stay in the Word) and the Word abides (stays) in us we can ask what we will and it will be done for us. To the carnal mind that looks like an open ticket but it is not. Remember we must be abiding in Him and His Word abiding in us. The position this puts us in is exactly the same as Jesus enjoyed in the earth. He only said what the Father said, did what He saw the Father doing, and the Father did the works. Do you suppose the Father is going to do anything not in the Word and not led of the Spirit? Short answer, no! That is the way of the Word!
There is much confusion about the word “ask” as in our text, verse seven. Many interpret the word ask as being synonymous with begging and it is not. That is not to say that people are not begging God everyday and everyday that prayer goes without a response. As children, sons and daughters, in the Kingdom, all things are ours but they are acquired in a specific way. We see no begging by any Prophet, other person, or Jesus that occurs or is answered. Not there anywhere! We have a Blood Covenant and the will of God is spelled out in that Covenant. We are led by the Holy Spirit to act on various areas of that Covenant in faith motivated by love (agape). There will be great reward for the obedient (love motivated child of God) person but it will primarily benefit the Kingdom of God and other people. Do not look primarily or first at your own cup but be assured it will be running over when we have done the full will of God in any given area by His leadership. As we evaluate the word “ask” let’s review the following, hopefully, familiar passage.
Mark 11:22-24 (KJV)
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
The word “desire” in Mark 11:24 is the same Greek word as “ask” in John 15:7. Notice in verse twenty-three above Jesus is talking about saying or decreeing and then in verse twenty-four He calls it praying. I realize that the religious minds are in shock mode but hang in there. It all starts with faith in God. If we do not believe and have full trust in God none of this is going to happen. Hebrews 11:6 tells us it is impossible to please God without faith. So, Mark chapter eleven brings some fullness or clarification to our text in John fifteen. We speak concerning the desired thing, with full faith in God, we doubt not in our heart (mind – thinking), but believe it shall come to pass, and it will come to pass. God will bring it to pass, just like in the ministry of Jesus. Verse twenty-four says that “What things soever ye desire” or ask when you pray, believe and we shall have them. Decreeing or saying what we want to happen is the same as prayer. Asking is the same as desiring.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
