Monday morning so quickly and time to once again ingest and make the Word of God our Word. So I will say: “The Word of God is David’s word in Jesus name”. Just as this pill the little girl is about to ingest will be digested and be distributed throughout her physical body, strengthen and give energy so will the Word of God do for our spiritual and physical body. This little girl has to purposefully take this natural pill and so do we have to choose to take the Word of God. Sitting up in Church and appearing to be awake does not constitute purposely taking the Word of God. The idea is for His Word to be our thoughts, our words, and our ways.
On the Hebrew Calendar the two day Feast of Pentecost started at six o-clock on the 10th of June on our Gregorian calendar. This was the 49th day from Firstfruits or Jesus rising from the dead (resurrected). From 6 pm on the 11th of June to 6 pm on the 12th of June is the 50th day after Firstfruits and the Day of Pentecost.
As you may recall the children of Israel left Egypt on Passover which is on the 14th day of the first month, they crossed the Red Sea on Firstfruits, the 16th and came to Mt. Sinai in the third month. The first day of Pentecost is recognized as the day on which Moses ascended Mt. Sinai and God gave him the law.
Exodus 19:1-3 (KJV)
1 In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. 2 … 3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
The Law has not passed away but we have a far superior way of dealing with the Law being under or led by Grace. They did not have Grace, the Holy Spirit, to help them obey or comply with the Law. We have Grace, the Holy Spirit of God, Who enables us to do the Law not thumb our nose at the Law. God did not change His mind about how His children should behave after Calvary.
Malachi 3:6 (KJV)
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
With the giving of The Law God had given the Hebrews (Jews, Israelites) “Seven Feasts” that they and we were and are to observe every year. There are four spring feasts and three fall feasts for a total of seven (spiritual perfection) Feasts. These Feasts of the Lord or “moeds” are a fixed time appointed of the Lord to assemble for a specific purpose. These four spring Feasts of the Lord are four very significant events in the life of Israel and in the Church as well. Passover is the day they left their homes in Egypt, they had removed all leaven from their homes, they crossed the Red Sea on the third day (Firstfruits), arriving at Mt. Sinai some fifty days later when Moses and the children received the Law directly from God. This is also prophetic of the first coming of Christ and the return of the Holy Spirit.
Passover the 14th of Nisan is the day that Jesus hung and died on the cross, Jesus is our unleavened bread paying the price of sin (1 Corinthians 5:7) with His innocent Blood, He rose on the third day the firstfruit of salvation (1 Corinthians 15:20-23). Then on the Day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit was poured out in the upper room and over the whole earth. A natural man cannot keep The Law but a Spirit Anointed and Spirit filled man can, Jesus is our example of that; He said we can do what He did and greater things in the earth.
Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The preceding Scripture passage is what most of the Christian community is familiar with concerning Pentecost but Pentecost started a long way before this wonderful day recorded in Acts chapter two. A prophecy proclaiming a Messiah was spoken and shown in the earth even memorialized and then He came. We needed Him bad. The Holy Spirit came back into the earth legally and fully as the result of Jesus paying the price of sin, restoring authority (dominion) to those in Christ Jesus, and bringing the fullness of The Blessing back into the earth available for all peoples. There is another very important prophetic event instituted of God which was fulfilled in the first coming of Christ which is that He is our Jubilee.
Leviticus 25:10 (KJV)
10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
In ancient Israel every fiftieth year was a year of jubilee when all was restored. If you had lost property due to debt and so on it was restored to you or your family in the fiftieth year. When Jesus came He made everything right which was so wrong with sin. We were liberated from sin, we were restored full authority (dominion) and power, eternal life was restored, and we were returned to the family of God. None of this was automatic but was and is available to whomever will say: “Yes Lord”.
In the appropriate season I will discuss the three fall feasts which were real events in ancient Israel. They are observed to this day by the Jews and should be celebrated by the Church. They also are prophetic of events to come which encapsulate the second coming of Christ.
