Praise the Lord for it is Friday and again time to receive the Word of God and pray for the American Church. The Church of Jesus Christ must awaken, repent, arise, tear down the high places, and triumph in Christ Jesus doing as He did, the Church Triumphant.
Let us now review our primary text and discuss verse nine in further detail for the glory of God which is to show the exceeding goodness of our Heavenly Father.
Colossians 2:6-9 (KJV)
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
You and I were born again by faith meaning that our spirit man was quickened or made alive by the Holy Spirit. We are born from above. More literally the phrase ‘born again’ could be translated ‘born as at the first’.
John 3:3 (KJV)
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:3 (YLT) [YLT = Young’s Literal Translation]
3 Jesus answered and said to him, `Verily, verily, I say to thee, If any one may not be born from above, he is not able to see the reign of God;’
Our subsequent walk in Christ Jesus before our Father in Heaven is also by faith for what is not of faith is sin and faith is the only way to please the Father. Faith that is working is powered by love and is focused on hope which are the things promised by the Word of God, the will of God. Now keep in mind that all of the Bible is for us and our lives but there is a time and a season for all things according to our assignments. We must be solid in what we believe because when push comes to shove ‘another gospel’ or the traditions of men will not get it done. However when we believe and operate according to the gospel of the Kingdom of God we walk in unlimited power for the glory of God.
John 3:34 (AMP)
34 For since He Whom God has sent speaks the words of God [proclaims God’s own message], God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit!
You might say well this is talking about Jesus, the Father is not going to give me the Holy Spirit without measure. He sure will if we will but line up with the Word like Jesus did. Never forget that Jesus fully expects and has commanded us to do exactly what He did and more in the earth.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
The following verses are some of what Jesus did, how much of this is going on in our lives? Let us repent and believe the gospel of the Kingdom of God.
Matthew 11:4-5 (KJV)
4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
According to our text Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit, all that the Godhead is He was and is today and as we will see next week the very same thing is available to us right now in Him.
Colossians 2:6-9 (KJV)
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
