Monday – May 2, 2016

Thank you Lord for Mondays! If we have not already we must choose to receive and prove the Word of God that I am about to share with you. These are not just words on a page these are rhema, anointed Words from the throne designed to change us completely into His image and likeness, so we can say like Jesus, when you have seen me you have seen the Father. Now let’s jump into our primary Scripture text from the Epistle of Colossians.
Colossians 2:6-9 (KJV)
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
I left off last week focusing on verse nine of our text. We have been studying at great length that we are saved by faith. To be saved by faith simply means that we believe God. We discontinue rejecting God which is to embrace the world and in reality the kingdom of darkness whose god is Satan. We chose a different God, the only real God, and we are translated into the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of light. This requires a change of thinking, or believing which is what repentance is at its core. We have also been studying that not only do we received Christ Jesus the Lord by faith but we also walk in Him by faith. We have changed our mind and are changing our thinking (renewing our minds) about God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and are being molded into His image and likeness day by day. We do not become more like Jesus by hanging out at the Church, we must expend energy and press into Him. We must be in agreement with Him (Scripture).
Amos 3:3 (KJV)
3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
God is asking us a question by His Spirit through the Prophet Amos to which the answer is a resounding, NO. No, two cannot walk together if they are in disagreement. The only way to walk with God is to agree with Him and do what He says even when we do not understand. We follow because we have chosen to trust and to follow Him.
John 10:27-30 (KJV)
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
Jesus says; we hear His voice, He knows us (He knows my name and your name), and we follow Him. Even if we are not sure we have ever heard His voice it seems unwise to call Him a liar, agree with Him by faith (believe Him). Praise the Lord that He knows us. And agree with Him that we are following Him by faith (believe Him). The more time you spend with Him in prayer (just talking to Him) and in His Word (Bible) the easier it will be to recognize Him. After all we all recognized Him once at salvation.
We are to be “rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith”. In the natural roots stabilize a tree (we are trees planted of the Lord). As our root system of faith, love, and hope is increasingly established what shows above ground will be more like Jesus. We should come to a place where our face shines like Moses face shined when he came off Mt. Sinai. Remember Moses was not born again like us, he did not have the potential we have. Remember what Jesus said about John the Baptist.
Luke 7:28 (KJV)
28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
You see brother and sister we are a new creation in Christ Jesus, we have an answer for sin, the Blood of Jesus. We are not like the “Old Testament” saints who were not born again.
2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
