GAVE THEM BREAD

Greetings dear children and sons of God and welcome back to our study of the wonderful Bible Book of John. Our God is so good to give us His Word. He does not intend; it is not His will, that we be in the dark (ignorant) about anything concerning the Kingdom of God. As you are well aware, our study of the Book of John is drawing to a close and I am sure the Lord has some very important nuggets left to share with us. Last week I spoke about putting God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) first. Do we in the body of Christ really understand this concept, this idea to its fullest extent? It is not a suggestion; it is a command!
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
What does this mean to me, to you? Is He serious? Are we to put Him first, seek Him first in all things or are we to pretty much run the show and come to Him when it doesn’t matter to our carnal nature? What about the following Scripture?
Deuteronomy 6:4-6 (KJV)
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Are we really to love God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) with all of our heart, all of our soul, and all of our strength? Do we remember that love means to obey Scripture (all of it), to be selfless, and to walk according to Blood Covenant? Listen to Jesus.
Mark 12:30 (KJV)
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Does Jesus really mean this or is this one option among many? Let’s take a look at the first commandment. Is this first commandment relevant today?
Exodus 20:1-6 (KJV)
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Could it be that we have not understood any of this and thus we find the Church at large and ourselves in a defeated powerless place? I realize I have used up our time today with this but I believe that the Lord is really pressing this fundamental Truth, the first of Truths. Now, let’s read our primary text from the Book of John, read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 21:12-14 (KJV)
12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
The disciples have been fishing overnight and now they see the risen Jesus on the shore. He has a fire going cooking fish and has brought some bread to go with the fish. He invites them to come and dine, to gather around the fire, the fish, and the bread and partake.
Tomorrow, Lord willing, I will focus in on the bread but as you may be aware the bread and the fish are connected.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
