HEALTH, HEALING, AND MIRACLES – PART FOUR
Sunday – April 1, 2018 – Nisan 16, 5778

Greetings and welcome back to this exciting Sunday series on health, healing, and miracles. The life of the Christian should shine with the goodness of God. We have a wonderful Covenant sealed with the most precious thing in all existence, in any realm, the Blood of Jesus. Tomorrow, Nisan 17, commemorates the day just before dawn that Jesus was delivered from Hell and the grave. When Justice saw the innocent Blood and heard the Words of Jesus’ testimony the Holy Spirit and Power were loosed restoring Jesus as God, as in the beginning (John 1:1), and gave Him an uncorrupted, immortal body of flesh and bone. Nisan is the first month on God’s calendar. One is the number of union or unity, because of the work of Jesus to destroy all the work of the devil we can chose once again to be one with God. With the acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit quickens our dead spirit just as He did that of Jesus all those years ago. The Holy Spirit is also our guarantee of an immortal body of flesh and bone like unto our Saviors’. One of the fruit of the spirit is peace, this is in part the reality of oneness with God. We sing the song that because He lives we can face tomorrow. Brother and sister, we can do more than face tomorrow we can dominate over today and tomorrow and every day after that until our mission is done and we have permission to go home.
Luke 10:19 (KJV)
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
John 10:10 (AMP)
10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
Let’s look at this same verse in perhaps the more familiar KJV.
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Do you recall in school when there were discussions over the difference between ‘may’ and ‘can’? May has to do with permission and can has to do with ability. As we examine John 10:10 we all must understand that the thief is Satan and his minions. The only reason that the thief comes to anyone, Christian and non-Christian alike is to steal, kill, and destroy. Unfortunately, a large part of the Church serves the thief by developing felonious theologies that seek to glorify or give some religious purpose to the stealing, the killing, and the destroying. They teach that it is all part of the Christians “cross” to bear, and expected part of life, our struggle until we die or Jesus comes. Is this what Jesus died to give us? Jesus didn’t think so! He said that He came expressly to destroy all the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) so that we “might” or “may” have an abundant life. Hopefully, it is now obvious why I am highlighting the words, ‘might’ and ‘may’. The abundant life does not fall upon us with no effort on our part (my guess is you already have figured that out). Like everything else in the Kingdom of God it is paid for, readily available, all will be received by all who will not doubt, who will believe, and who will say. We are to call things that be not as though they are just like Abraham, and just like God.
As we look at Scriptures remember to look at the numerology and even the gender of the various words, there is a treasure trove awaiting the serious student. The Book of John is the fourth Book of the New Testament, four is the number of light (Anointed Word) and also has to do with authority and power. Jesus is the light that came and caused us who accept Him to be lights in our generations. He restored authority and power to the believer. The number ten has to do with responsibility, in this reference the ten is repeated. One ten refers to the responsibilities of God and one ten refers to our responsibility. When we exercise our responsibility which is to believe, doubt not, and say (command) then God will perform it according to the Word of God. Since God has already done all that needs to be done the ball is always in our court awaiting our action.
Now, let’s turn our attention to the Luke 10:19 text above and below. The context in which this was said has great significance. You may recall in the ministry of Jesus He had Anointed and sent out the twelve and later He Anointed and sent out seventy. The twelve has to do with the twelve tribes of Israel and God perfect government which was coming upon the earth again. Remember that Jesus came first to His own, the Jews, and then to the gentiles (you and me). Seventy is the number of the nations, i.e. the Greek or gentile. Then Jesus says the following.
Luke 10:19 (KJV)
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Does this sound to you anything like Matthew twenty-eight, Mark sixteen, or Luke twenty-four? Of course, it does! The first use of the word “power” in this verse is a reference to authority and the second use is a reference to the abilities or force of the enemy. This second use is the same word that is used for miracles. So, let’s understand this we are equipped with unmatched authority or dominion, and unmatched power over all of the enemy. As a result, if we exercise these according to the Word of God “nothing shall by any means hurt you”. Where have we missed the boat?
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
