HEALTH, HEALING, AND MIRACLES – PART NINE
Sunday – May 6, 2018, Iyar 21, 5778

Greetings and welcome back to this wonderful and liberating Bible Study of Health, Healing, and Miracles. Dear brother and sister, this is unto us, this is our inheritance, let us determine to leave none of our inheritance on the table. Let us make all of it ours to show the goodness (glory) of our God! Rejoice over the following passage, it is for now, it is speaking of this time and is pushing hard into this time.
Malachi 4:1-3 (GW)
1 “Certainly the day is coming! It will burn like a furnace. All arrogant people and all evildoers will be {like} straw. The day that is coming will burn them up completely,” says the LORD of Armies. “It won’t leave a single root or branch.
2 “The Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings for you people who fear my name. You will go out and leap like calves let out of a stall.
3 You will trample on wicked people, because on the day I act they will be ashes under the soles of your feet,” says the LORD of Armies.
As we dive back into this wonderful study, there is something I want to bring to our attention and for us to be mindful of as we explore these things in the ministry of Jesus. Jesus is our example, the One we are to imitate. We can learn much from many other accounts in Scripture but Jesus is the “gold standard”. Notice in all cases that the people healed had heard something about Jesus, they had developed faith, and they came to Him. Hearing and the building of faith always precedes the healing. We are all too eager to rush to the sick person or place them in a prayer line or chain and then wonder why they were not healed. They had not developed faith, they had not heard anything to develop faith in. If the Lord does lead us to someone we must be sure that they hear the gospel of healing and wholeness. In this way they can build faith and the prayer of faith will heal the sick person.
James 5:14-15 (KJV)
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Notice that the person in the preceding Scripture is a part of the local Church. They are to call for the elders, the elders do not call to see if they can come over. The elders must have faith just as Jesus had faith in God for every situation. And, the sick person has to have faith that God will raise them up when the elders speak the prayer of faith. Last Sunday I talked about the leper that came to Jesus for healing. This leper did not have any question that Jesus could heal him, his question was whether Jesus would heal him. Many in the body of Christ struggle with whether they are worthy of the Masters healing touch just as this man did.
All that was done in the earth by Jesus was done as a man. He made that clear and He made it clear that the Father did the works (supernatural part). The same is true for us today. Do not be afraid of people having faith in you just as they did Jesus. When they come to us for prayer they must have faith in us and in God that they will be healed, this is essential. We and they however must understand that it is not us it is Him.
John 14:10 (KJV)
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 16:23 (KJV)
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
After Jesus healed the leper see what happened. The people came to hear and be healed, this pattern is repeated over and over in Scripture.
Luke 5:15 (KJV)
15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. (underline added)
As we start to conclude for today let’s look at other examples of hearing and being healed. Faith comes by hearing, and spiritual hearing (revelation) comes by the Word of God.
Mark 7:25 (KJV)
25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: (underline added)
John 4:47 (KJV)
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. (underline added)
Even in the old covenant this was true of hearing and going in faith for healing. Let’s take a look at Elisha and Naaman the Syrian leper. He heard, he went in faith, and he was healed.
2 Kings 5:3 (KJV)
3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
2 Kings 5:9 (KJV)
9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.
2 Kings 5:14 (KJV)
14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
Jesus had this reputation, since we are to do the things Jesus did and even greater things, why are we so slack?
Until our next publication, I speak this Scriptural prayer for your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
