Greetings from Eastern Gate Ministries International and The Three Minute Word publication. God is very good! We had a wonderful exploration yesterday of the second of three fall Feasts of the Lord called Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement. This is the day the Jews, the remnant from the holocaust of the tribulation period, will recognize Jesus as The Messiah and be converted, God will remove their sin.
Romans 11:25-27 (KJV)
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Oh, the mercy of God toward them, the Jew, and toward us! Thank you Father! Now back to Ephesians and “his mighty power”.
Ephesians 1:19-20 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Today let’s take a moment and look at what happened on that wonderful day when Christ was raised from the dead. This wonderful event is found in Hebrews 1:1-14. I think as we go down through this extraordinary record of the resurrection of our Savior and the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father we will be reminded of the amazing privilege we have and place we occupy and what it took to accomplish.
Hebrews 1:1-14 (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
There has never been a time in this current creation when God was not speaking to us, to all people.
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
When all that was spoken of was ready and it was legal, God sent His Son into the earth to purchase salvation for all who would accept. Jesus is the voice of creation and He is the heir of all.
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Jesus is just like the Father, as He told Phillip, ‘if you have seen me you have seen the Father’. The Word of God is the power of God or more accurately activates the Power of God. Jesus, the Son of God purged all sin for all time, and sat down at the right hand of the Father.
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Jesus is above the angels. He has inherited all from the Father including His name.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
The Word became flesh in the womb of Mary and the Son of God was present in the earth. However at Calvary this Son died, in effect God died, but because of His innocent Blood and the Words of His testimony the Father through the Eternal Spirit raised the Son of God not only back to life but He was restored as The Son of God. No angel has attained to be a Son of God but Jesus did and by His work at Calvary the way was paved for whosoever would accept Him as Lord become a son of God.
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
The first begotten of the Father is Jesus. He came first as The Light of the world because God so loved the world, He paid the price of sin, was then raised to life and again was the light of the world through His brethren (you and me).
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
Oh, what a wonderful picture of Jesus, The Word, being restored as God by the Father. Jesus was given the scepter of righteousness which is also our scepter in Him. In being restored as God Jesus is above His fellows (you and me), we are just a little lower than Elohim. This present heaven and earth will perish and new ones created but Jesus will never change.
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
The Father seated Jesus at His own right hand in Heaven with the instructions to wait for His enemies to be made His footstool. Who is enforcing the victory that Jesus obtained at Calvary? We are! When do you think we will get about the business of putting all of His enemies, our enemies, under His feet, which is under our feet?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
There have been several references to angels and we see that again here referred to as ministering spirits. The angels minister on our behalf. As the Lord gives guidance we should not hesitate to send them to accomplish the will of God.
Ephesians 1:19-20 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
