Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us all be reminded to pray for the governments of these United States and our friends to the north in Canada. There will be no change until there is a return to righteousness first among the people then in the leadership. You and I must change for this to change, let’s not be looking to the other guy or the world.
John Adams stated: “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
John Adams was the second President of these United States.
Today I am featuring a map locating the Province of Yukon in Canada courtesy of Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Ephesians 1:11 (KJV)
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Our access to the fullness of the inheritance obtained when we said “yes, Lord” is governed by our maturity in the Kingdom. Maturity in the Kingdom of God is not a time dependent event but our exercise of purposeful diligence.
Galatians 4:1-2 (KJV)
1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
You know just from your natural progression from being a child to being a fully responsible adult that what was allowed by your parents was progressive with your maturity. Now, let’s take a look at this passage from the Message translation.
Galatians 4:1-2 (MSG)
1 Let me show you the implications of this. As long as the heir is a minor, he has no advantage over the slave. Though legally he owns the entire inheritance,
2 he is subject to tutors and administrators until whatever date the father has set for emancipation.
Based on the general context it does not appear to me that we should interpret the “time appointed” or “date the father has set” as a fixed date in time, like you can vote when you turn eighteen and so on. It appears to be a reflection of maturity. The root meaning of the word ‘child’ from the King James Version has to do with speaking, more specifically not speaking. Not speaking what? The Word of God. So long as we are speaking idle words and mixing the thoughts, words, and ways of the world with the Kingdom of God thoughts, words, and ways (tree of the knowledge of good and evil) we have access to very little of our inheritance. It might be helpful to think about our inheritance in the vein of our behavior as reflected in our thoughts, words, and actions. The more we line up with the Father the more of our inheritance we will possess.
Ephesians 1:11 (KJV)
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
From before the foundation of the world, God had a purpose for us, He had established His will. As I have mentioned before, we (Adam) were not created or made to fail and then experience this long excruciating process (to God and us) of redemption. Man at his making/creation was given a free-will, therefore by his/her own choice could succeed or fail, and it is the same today. True love, faith, and hope cannot exist in the absence of choice. Since God is good, all the will of God and the purposes of God for His family were good, and they were good on the God level. God had a contingency plan should Adam or those beyond Adam sin. Adam sinned and the contingency plan was Jesus, who was The Word in eternity past. Righteousness (right standing with God) was lost and needed to be regained, eternal life was lost and needed to be regained. In Christ Jesus both have been restored. These are vital irreplaceable elements of our inheritance. The purpose, the will of the Father all along was for His children to be like Him building the Kingdom of God. This is His will for eternity
