Fifty-two years ago today I had the good fortune to marry Patricia Ann Snow. Some might say it was dumb luck because at that time my brain was not engaged only my hormones. Our marriage has been and is good, I was blessed with a very smart, loyal, supportive, and Godly woman (help-meet). God is so good, patient, and merciful in the midst of our blind flailing about. Thank you Lord for Patti.
Ephesians 1:11-12 (KJV)
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Last Friday I left off speaking about the inheritance we have obtained. Notice that we have already received this inheritance, it is not laid up for us in Heaven. The phrase “have obtained” is in the ‘aorist’ tense and ‘passive’ voice. Remember that aorist tense is independent of time. This inheritance was present for us before the foundation of the world and our entrance into the Kingdom of God at salvation was all that was necessary to take possession of this inheritance. What will we do with this inheritance? We are joint heirs with Christ (Who inherited and possesses all things). Remember that on many occasions including the following verse the word ‘Christ’ is not only referring to Jesus the Christ, the One who is Messiah (Savior) and the Anointed One who shows us the way, but the Holy Spirit who is the power that created and maintains all at the Word of Jesus (Hebrews 1:3). Keep in mind also that all the Father has is Jesus’ and in turn ours (John 17:21), we are one with the Godhead.

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
I really want to drive home the reality that this inheritance is unlimited, it is infinite and more can be created at any time until we learn how by God the Father through the Word of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. As we learn and mature in the Kingdom He fully expects and has given us authority (in Jesus) and empowerment (The Blessing) to be creative according to His will. We see this on a very limited scope in the natural with for examples cars, technology, and even the process of procreation which is physical and spiritual. One of the very words that we use for having children being ‘procreation’ has the word ‘creation’ within it. Even though I have referred to the preceding as occurring in the natural realm it came out of the spiritual realm. These natural, physical things, were ideas first, and ideas are spiritual. Ideas do not originate in the physical brain. Ideas originate in the spiritual realm, our mind, which is a spiritual organ, which is part of our spirit (soul) man and has the capacity to communicate with our physical brain. When that connection is broken we are absent from the body and either present with the Lord or present in Hell awaiting final judgment (White Throne Judgment).
Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 (KJV)
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Well, I have gone a short way down a rabbit trail now back on topic, the inheritance that was ours waiting for us to claim, the inheritance that is ours, and the inheritance that will be ours forever. Let me caution us all that this inheritance is not just stuff like our mansion in Heaven. Part of our inheritance is family, we have been restored to the family of God, once again we are of like kind with God, in the God class, created just a little lower than Elohim (Godhead). We are not God (capital G) with intrinsic authority and power. When Jesus returned to Heaven He gave us the authority of His name over all things in Heaven and in earth. The Father sent the Holy Spirit to be with and in us. The same power that created all things, the One who is the Blessing given Adam and now given us in Christ Jesus. When we operate according to the will of God there is no limit to what we can do. If now or ten-thousand years from now our Heavenly Father should ask us to create a galaxy it will be done at our word. All things are according to His purposes and His will.
