I AM NOT ALONE
Wednesday – March 27, 2019, Adar B 20, 5779

Greetings precious partners and friends of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word publication. Welcome back to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “like” and “share” buttons. I need to update my pictures, the featured picture today is about twelve years old, my hair is a little whiter and I don’t wear glasses. Now, let’s turn our attention to the Bible Study at hand first reading our primary Bible text aloud.
John 8:28-32 (KJV)
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Jesus is our prime example to follow, to imitate, for He led a sinless life and made it possible for us to do the same. There are many characters in the Holy Scripture that are examples for us both good and bad but none without sin. The point I want to make is this, no matter the history of these other men and women we must discern between what was the result of their choices and what is the will of God. There are bad things that occur in some of the lives of these heroes of faith which were not the will of God but the product of their choices and understanding (perhaps incomplete or skewed) of the Scripture. Just because according to Church History or Tradition the Apostle Peter was crucified upside down, John the Baptist and the Apostle Paul are beheaded does not mean it was the will of God and does not mean that is a desired fate for us or others in the Kingdom of God. Jesus is our prime example, and they could not lay a hand upon Him until He surrendered for the Cross. His primary mission was to defeat the works of the devil taking the sins of the world. That is unique to Jesus, no one is called to physically die for Christ, albeit that many do as a result of poor teaching, lack of faith, and not following the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
The other thing I want to emphasize and I don’t think can be said enough is that Jesus only said and did what the Father said and did, He operated in faith at all times, and the Father (via Holy Spirit) did the works. This is how we are to operate as well. When we get this through our heads, we will get the same results that Jesus got in His earthly ministry. Now, let’s move ahead into verse twenty-nine. Jesus points out that the One who sent Him is with Him, then says that the Father has not left Him alone, and concludes with “I do always those things that please him”. Who sent Jesus into the world? Who is with Jesus during His earthly ministry?
John 3:16 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The Father is the one who sent Jesus into the earth. You may think of this as a little superfluous or esoteric but let us think about God, the Triune God for a bit. There is really no difference between or among the three persons of the co-equal Triune God. Deuteronomy six tells us that our God is One God. Not one in persons but one in thought, word, and deed. The Father did not accompany Jesus into the earth but Holy Spirit did and is the one who fashioned the physical body of Jesus in the womb of Mary. Holy Spirit did the same concerning the first Adam. The Holy Spirit is also the One who empowered Jesus just as He empowers us. In the beginning God (Triune) called Him (Holy Spirit) the Blessing, the empowerment, supernatural empowerment of man. And, so it was with Jesus.
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
This is exactly what we are to be doing as well. Jesus made a point of making sure that the disciples understood that they were to do nothing until the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Day of Pentecost and they would be endued with Power from on High.
Luke 24:49 (KJV)
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
How did Jesus please the Father, and how do we please the Father? Just exactly the same way as Jesus did it, we are to do it. It is always by faith, it is impossible to please the Father without faith.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
One last point and I will move on tomorrow.
Hebrews 9:14 (KJV)
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
The “eternal Spirit” is the Holy Spirit and Jesus was able to fulfill His mission in the earth through the help of the Eternal Spirit so how do you suppose we are to accomplish our assignments?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
