AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Monday – February 1, 2021, Sh’vat 19, 5781
I ASCEND TO MY FATHER
Greetings to our precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Wow, what a year and it is just the first day of the second month. One Word the Lord gave me concerning this year is “blitzkrieg” which means lightening war. I will speak on this more another time but this was spoken with regard to the “Rising Remnant” and how they would move in the earth reclaiming what the enemy has stolen. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to do your part in disseminating the Truth. The featured picture today depicts Mary Magdalene at the tomb with the risen Savior. Now, let’s direct our attention to our primary Bible text. Read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:17-19 (KJV)
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Much of today is a repeat of last Thursday as I was dealing with verse seventeen (17 is the number of victory) and Jesus’ victory over death and Hell (Revelation 1:18). Good news saints, His victory is our victory the moment we make Him Lord and Savior.
Mary Magdalene is one happy girl at the feet of the risen Savior. Her love of Jesus in the face of great physical evidence that Jesus, her hope, was gone forever drove her to want to serve Him even beyond the grave. That is why she is here and not home mourning, but to anoint Him in burial. But He didn’t stay buried, praise the Lord! Jesus is fresh from Hell, the Bosom of Abraham. He is about to lead those captive in the Bosom of Abraham on to Heaven and be restored fully as God by the Father. Notice Jesus tells Mary to go tell His brethren, not His servants or subjects but brothers, that He is risen and ascending to the Father. He is ascending to His Father and her Father, His God, and her God. Oh, what a Savior! Now, let’s take a look at what happened from the moment He was declared innocent and the mighty Power of God raised Him from the dead and restored Him as God.
Ephesians 1:19-23 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Not only was Jesus raised by the mighty Power of God but we who have received Him as Lord are seated even now at the right hand of the Father (Ephesians 2:6). Can we really take the wonder of this in? If we did, we would not we where we are today, but we would be doing the things He did and the greater works just as He commanded (John 14:12). Now let’s turn our attention to the restoration of Jesus as the second person of the Triune Co-equal God. His position for eternity past and eternity future with a thirty-three-year hiatus where He functioned as an Anointed man in the earth. Most of the first chapter of Hebrews deals with the Words of the Father in the raising and restoring of Jesus (the Word). There is much to be said about this so today will only touch on these passages.
Hebrews 1:1-3 (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
As we examine Hebrews 1:1 we find it stated what we already know which is that God sent many (“the prophets”) over the 4000 years before the birth of Christ to speak to “the fathers”. As in the accounts Jesus related in His ministry, they treated the prophets shamefully and finally they killed the son.

2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
