I CALL HEAVEN AND EARTH
Monday – January 6, 2020, Tevet 9, 5780

Greetings my precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to encourage us and expand the reach of the gospel (good news). The featured picture was taken in Pittsfield Maine when we attended a concert in which our granddaughter (Donna’s by blood, mine by marriage) was performing. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Bible Study by first reading the primary text aloud.
John 14:21-23 (KJV)
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Perhaps someone is thinking, “enough already with the love and obedience thing”. It is true that the Holy Spirit has had me linger on this much longer than I would usually linger over a particular passage. The long and short of it however dear ones are that if we don’t get this right, we are going to have really rough sledding and an unfruitful life. To encourage you I will say that it does seem to me that the Holy Spirit is going to lead us forward in our text soon. Our obedience to the Word of God, the whole counsel of God, is the foundation of our love (agape) of God. When we are in disobedience (rebellion) there will be an absence of the manifestations (supernatural) of God and the presence of the manifestations of the devil, the curse. Disobedience always has consequences sometimes very dire in nature and it is always our choice. Disobedience is never accidental. Likewise, obedience is always purposeful, an act of our love of God. Consider the following Scripture.
Deuteronomy 30:15-20 (KJV)
15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
These types of really important choices are presented throughout Scripture. I hope it is crystal clear as to who choses life or death, good or evil. It is you and I dear ones, we choose. It is the will of God that we choose life, that we choose good, but we choose. Now, let each of us look at our lives and judge determining if we have life and good or death and evil. In the Deuteronomy passage God even gives us the correct answer (verse 19). We are freewill people and God will not force us to make any particular choice or do any particular thing and the devil cannot, it is in our court. Spend a few moments on verse 20 above and see if that is not like verse 21 in our primary text. The consequences of obedience to the Word of God which is choosing life and good, life and blessing is always good. Choosing life is choosing the Blood Covenant with God in Christ Jesus, life is in the blood, eternal life, all of our salvation is in the Blood of Jesus, His death (spirit and body), and His resurrection. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
