I HAVE GIVEN YOU AN EXAMPLE

Greetings my precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this empowering study of the Book of John. As I have said before these teaching, the Word of God in general, is only empowering when it is received, believed, kept in the midst of our hearts, and spoken in faith, in love (agape). None of us must never forget, lose sight of the Truth, that our entire life (now and eternity) is determined by our response to the Word of God. Another foundational Truth is that God is good and any bad stuff is not put there by God nor is it a failure of God. We have in one way or another sanctioned (authorized) or given permission for every bit of the curse that is established in our lives. The pictures this week will be of various scenes here in Maine except for Friday which will be of Donna and me, the leaders of this Ministry. Now, let us turn our attention to our primary Bible text for our study in the Book of John.
John 13:15-17 (KJV)
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
As we move forward in our study of this wonderful gospel Book lets focus for a bit on the fifteenth verse above. I have discussed this event of Jesus washing the feet of His disciples just a few hours before hanging on the Cross. He says to them that He has given them an example. That example is Christ Jesus and all that He did. The foot washing was a prophetic act, a type and shadow of the fact that he was the One with beautiful feet in the earth to bring the good news but He is returning to the Father and they are to be the ones (and us) with the beautiful feet to bring the good news. They and we are not to come in Word only but in power just as He (Jesus) did. We are commanded to do the things He did and even greater things.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Do I believe on Him, do you believe on Him? If the answer is yes than this applies to both of us. We are commanded to do the works Jesus did and the greater things. Wherever the Word is spoken in faith and received in faith there will be a flow of Power. Later we see the Apostle Paul talking of this in a different way.
1 Thessalonians 1:5 (KJV)
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
Jesus first brought the good news, the gospel, of the Kingdom of God, then He commissioned His disciples including the Apostle Paul, you, me, and others dear friends until Jesus comes. It is possible for the Word of God to be preached in faith and the power to be present and no one get saved, healed, or delivered. Each of us no doubt have heard and rejected the Word of God, first for salvation, then perhaps in other things like prosperity or healing. Remember, Jesus in His home town.
Mark 6:4-6 (KJV)
4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
It is a choice the hearer makes. First the hearer decides to hear or not, to receive or not, then to believe or not, and then to meditate (keep in the midst of the heart) or not. The Word of God in this fashion will change our lives to success in every area. The whole of our life here and for eternity is determined by our response to the good news. Please take the time to read the following, hopefully familiar, Scripture and meditate upon it, read carefully and give attention to it all not just what I have highlighted.
Joshua 1:5-9 (KJV)
5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
