I LOVE THE FATHER
Wednesday – February 12, 2020, Sh’vat 17, 5780
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this powerful, in depth, course altering (by our choice) Bible Study of the Book of John. We hope that you have been enjoying the fall pictures this week and not the reality outside of our windows, at least here in Maine. Now, let’s turn our attention fully and intently to our primary Bible text reading it aloud.
John 14:29-31 (KJV)
29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
Who is the “prince of this world”? The direct and short answer is, the devil is the “prince of this world” assisted by his cohorts (demons). “Prince” in this case means the one first in rank or power, chief (ruler), magistrate, or ruler according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Notice he is the ruler or prince of the world system, dear brothers and sisters we are not a part of the world system unless we chose to be. Remember, what got us into the mess (death and the curse came by way of sin) we have now was because Eve then Adam choose to partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Good is Kingdom of God ways, and evil is worldly ways. Sin is a violation of light which is the Anointed Word of God. Are we straddling the fence, one foot in the world and one foot in the Kingdom of God and wondering why things are out of kilter? Why do we think that allowing (yes allowing) the devil to deceive us is going to work better for us then it did for Adam and Eve? Ignorance opens us up to deception and ignorance is maintained by a lack of diligent study, and teaching/preaching highly contaminated by the traditions of man and the doctrine of demons. The devil, the thief, comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
I don’t know about you but I want to jump into the abundant life that Jesus came to give us. That abundant life is found in fullness when one is fully in the Kingdom of God and not straddling that fence. The more of the world we have in us the greater the stealing, killing, and destroying we will have in our life. Jesus has paid the full price for our participation in the abundance of the Kingdom of God. I for one have had all the stealing, killing, and destroying I want for one lifetime. Jesus says (verse 31) that the reality that the prince of this world has nothing in Him is a testimony to the world that He loved the Father by doing every commandment given Him of the Father. What about you and me? In case any of us have so quickly forgotten, what is love (agape) of God and how is it evidenced?

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. (Bold added)

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (Bold added)
John 14:23 (KJV)
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (Bold added)
Are we pretty clear that without obedience to the Word of God we have no basis or legitimate right to claim we love God (The Father, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit)? So now how did Jesus keep the enemy, the devil, from having any claim or place in Him to evidence the curse (stealing, killing, destroying)?

31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
Wow, isn’t that something! (the sarcasm is mine) Jesus was obedient to the Father and tells us that is the evidence of His love for the Father. Dear saints it will work exactly the same way for us that it did for Jesus! Remember love (agape) is a selfless lifestyle, dead to self, alive to God. Let’s get our focus on Him, on the Kingdom, on His commandments including the still small voice in our day to day activities and watch our life explode with the goodness of God. Not everyone will be happy with that but our Heavenly Father will be ecstatic.

Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
