IN THE BEGINNING

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in the knowledge of God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Welcome back to the ongoing Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews. God is so good to we His people.
Now let’s review our primary text and get right back into our Bible Study. God is speaking to us today.
Hebrews 1:7-11 (KJV)
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
I left off yesterday discussing the wonderful Anointing of Joy poured out on Jesus during His earthly ministry and in His restoration as God because He pleased the Father. He pleased the Father by loving righteousness (justice) and hating iniquity (sin). Jesus always pleased the Father saying what the Father said and doing what He saw the Father doing.
John 8:28-29 (KJV)
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
This is our mission as well and when we do as Jesus did we will get the results Jesus got and be empowered for the greater things. We briefly talked about Nehemiah 8:10 which tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength. When we do the will of God it pleases Him, brings joy to His heart, and His power is released in our lives and through us to show the goodness (glory) of God. We all know that in the natural when we please someone they are much more likely to act favorably toward us. Jesus is the Head of the Church and as we please Him in our obedience that same anointing of gladness, joy, strength is poured out upon us to be more productive for the Kingdom of God. We must have an intense love of righteousness, uprightness, and justice and an equally intense hate (to detest) of sin. This oil of gladness brings us upward and to our full potential just as it did Jesus restoring Him to the Throne of Heaven as God. Now let’s turn our attention to verse ten.
Hebrews 1:10 (KJV)
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
In our text, the Father refers to Jesus as Lord which means the one of highest authority, He is the highest or higher power. Then the Father, Jehovah, gives Jesus the credit for laying the foundation of the earth and the heavens. A foundation lies beneath the actual structure. All things begin with an idea. Is the Father talking about the actual formation of the earth and the heavens in the beginning or is He (the Father) saying that it was the Words (Jesus) idea? Or could it be that the heavens and earth of Genesis 1:1 were the building blocks for the heavens and earth of Genesis 1:3 and following? Looking at our text Hebrews 1:10 from the perspective of Bible Numerology we see that ten is the number of responsibility, one the number of unity, and nineteen the number of faith. Because this creation was Jesus’ idea in the first place it was His responsibility to bring mankind back to unity with God by faith. It seems that this is why the Word (Jesus) went to the Cross and not another. Let’s take a look at the beginning.
Genesis 1:1 (KJV)
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
As I have pointed out on occasion the word ‘God’ in this very first verse of the Bible is transliterated from Hebrew to English as Elohim which is a pleural form of God. This tells us that all three persons of the One God were present. These three persons of the triune God are Jehovah, Word, and Holy Spirit. The word ‘heaven’ is also pleural indicating that more than one heaven was created in the beginning. The two heavens created are the atmospheric envelop about the earth and what we call outer space the home of our galaxy and the myriad of others. Another interesting fact is that the word ‘beginning’ and the word ‘earth’ found in both Genesis 1:1 and Hebrews 1:10 are feminine in gender declaring that God is expecting a certain productivity to spring out of this new beginning and out of this earth. The word ‘hands’ in Hebrews 1:10 is also feminine in gender and therefore we know that the Holy Spirit is productive, is creative in response to the Word (seed).
Genesis 1:2 (KJV)
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
As we look at Genesis 1:2 we find a fair amount of chaos and therefore we know that God was not responsible for it. A destruction has come into the earth and we all know who the destroyer is. We also see that the Spirit of God is present. The Holy Spirit is the hand or hands of God.
Genesis 1:3 (KJV)
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
The word ‘God’ above is also pleural and the word Elohim. Elohim, the whole of God (Jehovah, the Word, and the Holy Spirit) spoke light into existence. You and I are spirit, soul, and body and so is God. When you and I speak our whole person speaks starting with the idea, the utterance of the words, and the body language that accompanies our speech. As I conclude today you will find the following verse confirmatory (two or three witnesses) of our text from Hebrews. Verse seventeen in the following passage is very much like Hebrews 1:3, meditate and enjoy.
Colossians 1:16-17 (KJV)
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
