LIFE IN HEAVEN – PART THIRTY-SIX

TIME FRAME SIX
THE CATCHING AWAY TO THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to this powerful and stimulating study of Life in Heaven. Starting in 2019 this series of Life in Heaven will be published on Sunday rather than Saturday. There will be something new for Saturday’s in the near future. As I have pointed out many times in the past this study does not always have a chapter and verse to back up what I am saying. However, I do seek to keep what I write within the confines of Scripture, what we know about God, how He operates, His character, and how we see thing operating in the earth which in the beginning originated in Heaven with God. As you know this study is divided into eight time-frames and we are in the sixth time-frame. The eight time-frames are as follows.
- Eternity before Genesis 1:1
- Genesis 1:1 to 1:2 (may have been billions of years)
- Genesis 1:3 to Genesis 3:6 the Day of Sin and Death
- Genesis 3:6 to Jesus putting His Blood on the Mercy Seat
- Resurrection to the Rapture
- Rapture or Catching Away to the Second Coming
- One Thousand Year Reign
- Eternity Future
This sixth time-frame starts with the Rapture or the Catching Away of the Church (body of Christ) and ends with Jesus stepping foot on the Mount of Olives at His Second Coming. Once again let me pick up our discussion with the Catching Away as we study the following Scripture.
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 (KJV)
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
It seems that Paul is addressing two very wrong ideas at the time and perhaps even now with the Truth. One being that if you died before the return of Christ you are up the creek so to speak. The other being that if you were alive at the Coming you would have to die and be resurrected; the Apostle Paul puts both of those erroneous lines of thought to bed. He tells them and us plainly that not everyone will die but not to worry we are all going the same place at the same time and we are going as whole persons. When I say whole persons, I am referring to the presence of the new immortal body being united with the already immortal spirit and soul. One might ask why we need a body anyway, why can’t we just be spiritual persons like Jesus before the womb of Mary or the angels. In order to have citizenship or authority in a place you must be of that place. Remember when Jesus went back to Heaven, He said that all authority had been given to Him in Heaven and in earth. Jesus was then and will be forever all man and all God. We like Jesus have a body of this physical realm and our spirit is of the spiritual realm. Our physical body is of the earth. Even at the Catching Away our body will be of the elements of the earth just arranged in a perfect immortal fashion. Our spiritual body is of our Father, the Heavenly Father. At His ascent Jesus then sent us with the Power of Attorney of His name into all the earth. We are of the earth just as He was and is and as such, we can exercise authority in the earth. However, we are also of Heaven in the image and likeness of God, of the same spirit as God, and therefore can exercise authority in Heaven. At our ascent into Heaven we will have assignments and the authority to accomplish them in Heaven, the spiritual realm. We will also have assignments and authority in the earth and even in the rest of the created physical realm. Just makes one mind go ninety miles an hour doesn’t it?
Of course, the Rapture of the whole person for those that are alive and the Resurrection of the body for those that have died will be an event without equal in all of history. Just think of it, bodies that have been dead for millennia will be rejoined, reconstituted (as from the beginning), with the living soul of the prior occupant. This new body being without corruption will allow 100% function of the spirit man. This new body will not be the impediment of our current body to the spirit man. This body will be a significant upgrade from the one the departed saints laid down as they departed for Heaven in a chariot of fire. This body will not have blood, it will be flesh and bone just as the body of Jesus. Some will have departed moments before the Catching away and others moments after Jesus emptied the Bosom of Abraham. This new body will be immortal, incorruptible, and no longer subject to the curse or subject to death. For us, at that very moment, the curse is no more; it is all Blessing, and no demonic resistance. The only resistance to the plan of God in Heaven is the ignorance of the arrivals. There are no evil spirits, and no Devil. On the other hand, there are Christians of every strip and every level of maturity. The persons assigned to the Educational Pillar will be very busy at the time of the Rapture until the Second Coming of Christ. Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Saturday, next year.
