ETERNITY FUTURE
Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to this wonderful study, extraordinary contemplation of life in Heaven. God is so good, and He has nothing to hide nor is He hiding anything from His children. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “like” and “share” buttons. This is the final installment of this series and it has been a real joy to do it and seemed to generate lots of interest among my readers. As we move into this final study let’s review the eight time-frames into which this study has been divided.
- Eternity before Genesis 1:1
- Genesis 1:1 to 1:2 (may have been billions of years)
- Genesis 1:3 to Genesis 3:6 the Day of Sin and Death
- Genesis 3:6 to Jesus putting His Blood on the Mercy Seat
- Resurrection to the Rapture
- Rapture or Catching Away to the Second Coming
- One Thousand Year Reign
- Eternity Future
When I left off last Sunday, we contemplating who was in Heaven, the abode of God and who was in the earth and even the “Heavenly Jerusalem”. Another interesting difference between this creation (not the creation of Genesis 1:1) is that there will be no sea in the new earth whereas initially there was one sea in this present creation or renovation of the earth.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Revelation 21:1 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
It would appear from the Bible texts which we studied last week that the co-equal Triune God will be present in the New Jerusalem descended down from Heaven. This is not to say they are confined to that space. We might ask is there still a Throne Room in Heaven or is that entirely in the new earth with the Ark of the Covenant, the Covenant, and the Blood of Jesus? They have access and presence everywhere but their primary home is the New Jerusalem. So, who is in Heaven? It would seem that there would be a complete staffing contingent present to maintain the functions of Heaven. This would include a presence of the Holy Spirit, holy angels, and assigned persons. It would seem that the persons in Heaven might rotate on some basis to also be in the earth, the New Jerusalem, and other fun assignments at times. Don’t forget that we have previously talked about the spheres of influence or pillars of society that are in the earth and is a reflection of what is in Heaven. Each of us now function and will eternally function in one or more of those arenas. Who is in the New Jerusalem in the earth for eternity future but now in Heaven (abode of God)? We know that God the Father and God the Son are in the New Jerusalem as well as the Holy Spirit.
Revelation 21:23 (KJV)
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Just for interest the words “lighten” and “light” are different. The lighten is referring to a generalized light whereas the word light is referring to a light like a portable lamp. It seems likely that the various classes of angels will be present in Heaven, the New Jerusalem, and throughout the earth. We, the children of God, those who have glorified bodies, will be ruling in the earth under Christ Jesus and the Father (probably the Father). What about the natural persons in the earth who received Jesus as Lord and were not deceived by the devil and not consumed in the fire from Heaven? It seems to me that they are likely transformed like we will be in the Catching Away or the Resurrection and have uncorrupted bodies. This would happen when we are all in Heaven for the destruction of all other created things.
What will we, you and me, be doing in eternity future? The new earth will be like Eden an extension of Heaven. We are coming full circle. We will function in our assigned pillars of society. The eternal mandates for man will remain in place and we can each use our imaginations to contemplate what our part will be in all of those. It will be like now but pure and free of the curse and the resistance of evil spirits. Now the eternal mandates.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 2:15-17 (KJV)
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
These seven mandates are to be fruitful, to multiply, to replenish the earth, to subdue the earth, to care for the earth, to guard the earth, and not mix the knowledge of good with evil. Will the number of people in this time be fixed or is increase possible by way of having children? Is sin possible in this time-frame? Will there be other creations in this eternal time-frame? Will there be another outer space with planets and galaxies or other entities we have never contemplated? Will there ever be other peoples, not like us in the likeness and image of God but perhaps like in the eternity past or in the time-frame between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2? I think the answers to these questions are available for us to know, perhaps in part by revelation but also in what we know about God, the unchanging God.
This is the final publication for this series, however, be watching for the book by the same name. Receive the following blessing with all joy and eagerness. Confess the following passage over yourself in the first person and walk before Whom we have to do with great rejoicing and thanksgiving. This physical body is our humiliation but soon it will be no more for the glory of God and our eternal benefit.
