MAKE THINE ENEMIES THY FOOTSTOOL

Greetings to our precious friends and partners of this Ministry and followers of The Three Minute Word blog. We welcome you back to this wonderfully powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. God is so good to give us His Word taking the guesswork out of what His will is and what we are to do. Please take a few moments at this time to share this teaching extending our reach of the gospel, of the Truth. The featured image today is of a footstool to give a visual of something under one’s feet. In this case under the feet of Jesus, the feet are in the body, thus under the feet of the believer. Since each Spirit baptized believer has the very highest level of authority and the Power to back it up why are the heathen running everything and why do they have all the money? Why do the heathen control the gates of every sphere of influence (pillars, mountains)? Where is the Scripture for the heathen being the head and the Church being the tail? The Serpent has beguiled the Church which thinks our current situation is the will of God. What an affront to our God! Jesus is heir of all (notice all – spiritual and physical) and we are joint-heirs (participants in common) with Him.
Hebrews 1:2 (KJV)
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Romans 8:17 (KJV)
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
A joint-heir is a participant in common with all other heirs which includes Christ Jesus. When will we stop being suckered by the devil, the traditions of men, and the doctrine of demons? When will we stop playing the victim card and play the king in me card? Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible Study and primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:17-19 (KJV)
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
As you recall, Jesus, the risen, resurrected Savior, has just emerged from the tomb and appears first to Mary Magdalene. What an honor and privilege accorded Mary Magdalene. From the Bible record of this woman there is no question of her love (agape) concerning Jesus and her faithfulness to Him. Love never fails and on this first Resurrection morning love brought the manifestation of Jesus very literally into her life. As we have this passage in the Book of John, in prior teachings I have taken us back to prophecies of what the Father would say when Jesus was raised from the spiritual and physical dead and restored as God. Now, let’s turn our attention back to the Book of Hebrews which has been the main source of this study.
Hebrews 1:10-14 (KJV)
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Yesterday I pointed out that the Father called Jesus ‘Lord’ which is the Greek word transliterated to English as kyrios meaning the one with highest authority according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Then I asked if having authority gave a person control. Anyone who has ever had children or been a boss in a business, etc. knows the answer is a resounding, NO! Jesus lets us know through the Word of God (Truth) and the leadership of the Holy Spirit what we are to do, and how we are to live, then we choose for we have freewill. In short, we choose how to think, talk, and do. He tells us what will work best then we chose. Now, in the Hebrews passage, let’s skip down to verse thirteen where we find the Father telling the Son to sit at His right hand until He makes Jesus’ enemies Jesus footstool. Jesus triumphed over the devil making an open show of him, however until the devil(s) are taken out of the picture it is our job to keep these spiritual enemies in subjection to our authority. Now, this is not a hit or miss thing, we have total authority to resist the devil and he will flee, period. The more difficult part is recognizing when he is at work in our thoughts. This is the reason we must compare every thought to the Word of God, to the scrutiny of the One who lives within us, the Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
The feet are what rest on a footstool, the feet are in the body of Christ. We the body are to trample the devil and his demons under our feet. See how the Psalmist recorded this.
Psalm 91:13 (KJV)
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
