MORE ABOUT THE NEW PRIESTHOOD AND THE BLESSING
Tuesday – September 18, 2018, Tishrei 9, 5779

Greetings and again welcome back to this very encouraging and faith building Bible Study. I am teaching on the Book of John however yesterday and today is a temporary diversion of sorts. I believe Holy Spirit has taken us on this diversion to encourage our hearts and remind us that with God, with the Blessing, nothing shall be impossible to us.
Mark 10:27 (KJV)
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
We must purpose within ourselves to not look at what is possible with us, our limitations, but look at the very absence of limitations in God. When the will of God is known to us we must move forward in that mission by faith, in full confidence that what He has promised He is well able to perform. In Him we also are without limitations, let us get Heavens mindset. We must always be mindful of what our focus is upon, is it Him and His unfettered abilities or our very finite abilities? The change of priesthood was prophesied from the beginning and we see it in the following Genesis fourteen passage. A change of priesthood was necessary to bring the Blessing of the Garden, the Blessing of Abraham forward not just to a few Jews but to the Gentiles, to all peoples who would receive the Messiah (Christ) as King and Priest. The Christ, the Messiah (of the tribe of Judah) needed to be the High Priest to bring the Blessing to all peoples. The Blessing always comes through the High Priest or priest of God (Deuteronomy 21:5). Christ Jesus is High Priest of priests and King of kings! In Him we are priests and kings as well doing His will in the earth for the glory of God. Now let us consider Genesis fourteen.
Genesis 14:17-22 (KJV)
17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.
18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
Never lose sight of the fact that there are always two kings that are eager to see you, one is the king of this world system (Satan) and the other is the King of Glory our Lord and Savior. There are those who say that Melchizedek is a title and not a name and that this person is none other than Shem a son of Noah. The time lines of Shem and Abraham do overlap and so that is possible. It is speculated that the Blessing placed on Noah came down through Shem (Melchizedek) to Abram who was to be a cornerstone, lynchpin in the salvation of mankind.
The name Melchizedek means king of right or righteousness. Well, if that is not a picture of Jesus, I don’t know what would be. So, we will pick this up in the text above and recall that the Blessing of Abraham is the same Blessing that is come upon us through Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:13-14). Melchizedek was both priest of the Most High God, he was king of righteousness, and king of Salem (peace, made perfect, wholeness). Wow, Jesus is written all over that one. When it applies to Jesus, it applies to us in Him, with the exception of the attributes that define God, large G. This king of righteousness and wholeness brings out some bread and wine! The communion Table some two thousand years before the sacrifice of the Lamb of God. Pay particular attention to verse nineteen (nineteen is the number of faith) so this must be received by faith and exercised by faith. The Blessing, God, does not move on anything in our behalf without faith. In the presence of the prophetic act of commemorating the broken body of Jesus and His shed blood we see Abram being blessed by Melchizedek.
We also see the tithe intimately intertwined with the Communion Table and the Blessing. Hello, absence of the tithe will lead to absence of the work of the Blessing in our lives. The Blessing will be present and perhaps a non-tither can end up in Heaven but the Blessing will be silent and our lives will like those of the world. Notice that Melchizedek blesses Abram, tells him (Abram) that the blessing is of God, and that Abram is “possessor of heaven and earth”. Now, we see the concept of joint-heirs coming into view. In verse twenty-two (light) we see Abram declaring that God is “possessor of heaven and earth”. The word “possessor” here can mean just that but there is also a picture being painted of buying back a thing, in this case heaven (first) and earth. This was all surrendered to the Serpent by Adam but now Christ Jesus has gotten it all back by His broken body and shed Blood sealing the Covenant of redemption.
Genesis 22:17-19 (KJV)
17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.
Beersheba means the well of the oath. Hallelujah! The “seed” in the preceding is Christ, in Him we also possess the gate of our enemies and are blessed without limit. I trust you have enjoyed this little foray that Holy Spirit has taken us on, I believe we are all stronger as a result.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
