NO MORE ANGUISH

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this engaging, enlightening, and empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to extend the reach of the Truth. The featured picture today was provided by a good personal friend and a friend of this Ministry, Joe Getchell Jr. Are we ready to receive, believe, and act upon the light (revealed Truth) we see today? Spiritual light is not just knowing something as information but having revelation, insight, and conviction to act upon that Truth no matter what. If we are not ready to receive, believe, and act upon what is contained in this or any other teachings, why bother to read on? I encourage each of us to receive with eagerness of heart (Acts 17:10-11) but to prove or establish each point by two or three witnesses (2 Corinthians 13:1). Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading it out loud and then launch into our study.
John 16:20-22 (KJV)
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
Jesus is in the last few hours of His earthly Ministry before the Cross and we are hearing a pouring forth of the Word of God. Jesus ministered in the earth as a man however He tells us that He did not say anything the Father did not say, He did not do anything He did not see the Father doing, and the Father did the works.
John 5:19 (KJV)
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
John 14:10 (KJV)
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
This is to be our pattern as well. Is it our pattern? Are we constantly checking inside with God, the Holy Spirit, as to what we should say, what we should do, where we should go, and so on? Jesus is telling those assembled that He is going away and they will be filled with sorrow briefly however when they see Him again that sorrow will be turned to joy. Jesus then launches into giving the example of a woman having a child. He points out that there is a season of great travail (effort, toil, exertion, labor, struggle, and hard work) in delivering a child. This of course is due to the curse which came due to sin. Consider the following verse and notice the word sorrow.
Genesis 3:16 (KJV)
16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Jesus is about to bear all of the curse including death, be the remedy for sin, be separated from the Father, and give birth to the Church in great sorrow.
Matthew 26:36-38 (KJV)
36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
Our text tells that the sorrow, the anguish of the woman, is turned to joy so it was for Jesus.
Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For Jesus, the sorrow and the anguish just before the Cross, on the Cross, and in Hell was far overshadowed by what would be accomplished for the Father and for mankind (expression of love, obedient to Scripture, selfless, observing Blood Covenant). Just as our sorrow, anguish of giving birth to a child or some other creation is turned to joy in its accomplishment so was it for Jesus. The sorrow, the anguish of the disciples became great joy when Jesus rose from the dead and then sent the Blessing, the promise of the Holy Spirit.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
