I WILL SHOW THEM MY SALVATION

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this ongoing study of the 91st Psalm. This particular Psalm has been widely recognized as a Word for protection. Protection from all that we need protection from. The protection is not automatic. Like all other benefits in the Kingdom of God there are qualifiers. All of the benefits of the Kingdom are ours at Salvation. This is really no different than a job you may have worked. Getting hired requires certain things and being eligible and receiving certain benefits once hired require certain things. First let’s review a little of our study text then the seven elements essential to being in the secret place of the Most High. You cannot study this too much.
Psalm 91:1-2 (KJV)
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Again, let’s review the qualifiers for “dwelling in the secret place”.
- Faith is necessary (Romans 10:17)
- Meditation of the Word the promise is needed (Joshua 1:8)
- We must focus on the promise (2 Corinthians 4:18)
- We must call it done before we see it (Romans 4:17-22)
- We must have knowledge (2 Peter 1:2-4)
- God has given us all things including His protection to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17)
- We must be free of sin (Ezekial 7:8,22)
At the core of coming to dwell in the secret place is bringing our thinking into alignment with God’s thinking. What the Apostle Paul in Romans 12:2 calls a renewing of the mind. This involves getting the junk of darkness out and getting light in. Now, let’s jump into our primary Bible text for today continuing to explore the goodness of God.
Psalm 91:14-16 (KJV)
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Let’s ask ourselves, have we set our love upon the Lord. Perhaps you were quick to exclaim “of yes Dr. Wood, I love the Lord!” Many times, we have a worldly level of love and perhaps some elements of Divine love (agapē/agapaō). Worldly love is emotion driven and transactional. Godly love can only be expressed by God, and the children of God. This love is expressed by obeying the Word of God, having a selfless lifestyle, and walking in Blood Covenant with our Heavenly Father (Get my book – Awake, Arise, and Triumph – Be Love). Our walk in love gives power to our faith and brings us into and maintains us in the secret place. In addition, it allows Him to not only deliver us but set us on high. Do you want the Lord to set you on high? Do you want Him to illuminate the upward path? Do we truly know His name and know it is now our name. This is much like the name change of the bride in marriage.
In that secret place we call upon Him and He answers. If we are not in the secret place He will answer as well but it will be enlightenment to direct us to our love walk and entrance to the secret place. At salvation and forever the Lord is with us. The question is this. Are we in a position that authorizes Him to deliver and honor us. I can personally attest that the Lord has delivered me many times since that night on the heart Cath table to this day and He has honored me in many ways. The Lord promised me long life, a satisfyingly long life and I am doing all I know to do not to hinder His will. He promised to show me His salvation, the fulness of the salvation package. He is keeping His Word, He cannot lie.
TAKE HOME:
- Have you set your love upon the Lord and others?
- In that place of love, ours and His, He not only answers when we call, and is not only with us but will deliver us and honor us.
- Are you interested in long life and the fulness of salvation? If so, get into and stay in the secret place. Build faith and walk in love (agapē/agapaō).
As the Lord wills, I will return tomorrow with fresh revelation. The Lord bless and keep you and yours. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
