SOME BELIEVE NOT
Thursday – February 7, 2019, Adar A 2, 5779

Greeting brothers and sisters in Christ and also those of you who are considering becoming a Christian and thus also be a brother or sister in Christ. God is so good, take the plunge, declare that Jesus is your Savior and Lord and follow after Him. It is no more complicated than that, so do it. Next start reading the Bible, ask the Lord to open it to you, find a good Bible believing and Bible teaching Church and attend regular. Do these things and continue to follow this ministry and you are on your way to victory that lasts, it lasts an eternity by the way. I will be continuing our study from the Book of John and we will pick up with our primary text reading it aloud so that we get it into our eyes, our mouth, and our ears.
John 6:63-66 (KJV)
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
Let me ask the question again, are we speaking words that bring life, quickening to peoples and situations, or are we speaking words that bring death? Our words like those of Jesus are spirit, all things start in the spirit realm, and they will bring forth either good or evil, life or death. What are we choosing, what will we choose from today forward? Of course, this decision and the carrying out of the decision is not just going to fall on us for our speech patterns, our ideas, our choice of words, our ways have been formed over decades and must be changed on purpose. As we follow along in our primary Bible text, we see Jesus pointing out to those gathered that some of them did not believe. Is this really any different than the gathering at my Church or yours last Sunday? Of course not! Many people sit in Church and hear the Word of God Sunday after Sunday and there is no change in their lives or circumstances. Why? They did not receive it, believe it or act upon it. Faith came but they did nothing with it, letting it fall to the ground and out of view. Remember the parable of the sower, only one quarter received the Word and prospered. Quite frankly I don’t see even one quarter prospering today. Actually, the Scripture does not divide the groups into quarters but into four groups of undefined size relative to the whole. Before I move on, I want to point out another huge reason for a lack of victory, manifestation of the gifts of Holy Spirit in the Church or elsewhere, and that is the preaching of a polluted or corrupted gospel. Those of you who are following the Saturday series on “Traditions, Lies, and Truth” know what I am talking about. Many of you know what I am talking about anyway for you are listening to that religious dribble week in and week out.
Perhaps you recognized the featured picture as a representation of another group of people who did not believe. After the Hebrews came out of Egypt, over a two-year period, they received the law and built the Tabernacle. It was then time to enter the Promised Land and Moses sent twelve spies into the land. Scripture tells us that two, Joshua and Caleb, came back with a good report and ten came back with an evil report. As a result of this they wandered in the wilderness for forty years with the rebellious generation dying off and a new generation who would believe was being raised up. Let’s take a few minutes and review the following Scripture as it relates to unbelief and the extraordinary price tag associated with it.
Numbers 14:36-38 (KJV)
36 And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,
37 Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.
The writer of Hebrews brings this event to mind and admonishes not only the audience of this letter but us today.
Hebrews 3:7-13 (KJV)
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Have we set ourselves to hear His voice? A heart becomes hardened when we hear the voice of God but refuse the voice of God. Each time the Lord speaks and we refuse our heart (our mind which is a spiritual organ and communes with God) becomes harder and harder and after awhile we don’t hear Him anymore. When we refuse the voice of God (Scripture, preaching, prophecy, the still small voice of Holy Spirit) our heart is hardened and we do not qualify to enter the rest of God. The treat does not go to the child who chooses disobedience. The rest of God is the provision of God. I can tell you that the provision of God is far, far, far better than the provision of the devil and yes those are the only two choices. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
