It is time for our Tuesday dose of God’s Word, the only source of supernatural empowerment for the glory of God. I am also reminding you and me that we must remember to pray for our governments of these United States of America.
James 5:16 (KJV)
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (Bold added)
Today I am highlighting the State of Nebraska, the 37th State admitted to the union on March 1, 1867 during the presidency of our 17th President Andrew Johnson. The building pictured is the Capital building located in Lincoln Nebraska, also you will see the map locating Nebraska in the United States and the state flag. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Following is a portion of the State of Nebraska Constitution. We are a nation in Covenant with Almighty God.
State of Nebraska Constitution
Article I-0
Preamble.
We, the people, grateful to Almighty God for our freedom, do ordain and establish the following declaration of rights and frame of government, as the Constitution of the State of Nebraska.
Article I-1
Statement of rights.
All persons are by nature free and independent, and have certain inherent and inalienable rights; among these are life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the right to keep and bear arms for security or defense of self, family, home, and others, and for lawful common defense, hunting, recreational use, and all other lawful purposes, and such rights shall not be denied or infringed by the state or any subdivision thereof. To secure these rights, and the protection of property, governments are instituted among people, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
I also want to take this opportunity to remind everyone too exercise their right and obligation to vote in the primaries. Of course if you are in Iowa or New Hampshire you have already caucused or voted. Early voting starts today in Texas and in Maine the caucuses are coming up for the Republicans on the 5th of March and the Democrats on the 6th of March. To be brutally frank with all, in my personal opinion not a single Christian has any business voting for a Democratic Candidate. Before anyone sins let me show you why. Look at the platform of each party and see which conforms most closely to the Bible. The 2012 cycle Party Platforms are readily available online. The Democratic Platform is pro-choice (murder of the unborn) and strongly supports same sex marriage just to name two devilish ideas. The Republican Platform is pro-life and strongly supports marriage as between a man and a woman. God is not a Democrat or a Republican but Scripture is clear that He is very much into life and traditional marriage between a man and a woman. As an aside, God also is not into shacking up. So the bottom line is this, when a person casts a vote for a Democratic candidate they are voting for abortion and the homosexual lifestyle. As I have pointed out before only about half of Christians vote and half of them vote unrighteousness. Not voting is not a viable or righteous option for the Christian. Our prayer for all that are in authority, our clear expression of God’s ideas on life in the earth, and our exercise of the civic responsibility to vote are all part of the discharge of our Christian duty before God. All of this is Spiritual Warfare, if the devil can convince us to vote for his plan, or not vote at all, he can continue to bring stealing, killing, and destruction into the lives of the disobedient ones as individuals and the nation as a whole. We are off course, we are off the firm foundation upon which our Covenant nation was established.
Psalm 82:5 (KJV)
5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
Tomorrow I will pick up with the following passage of Scripture as we continue our study of Spiritual Warfare.
James 4:3-10 (KJV)
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
