Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I speak blessing and protection over each of you reading this teaching, those that have come to this teaching with the intent to make God’s Word your word with His help. The picture is of Dr. Wood teaching the Word of God in April 2013. I hope that you are aware that today is a national holiday known as Presidents Day. The President of these United States represents all the people and is the executive of the nation. There are three branches of government, the Judiciary, the Legislative, and the Executive. The powers of the Executive Branch are described in Article II of The Constitution of the United States of America. It is my belief that all of us who are citizens of this Covenant Nation have a duty to be familiar with The Constitution of these United States of America so now might be a good time to do that. We are a nation of laws but that is useless unless they be enforced by “We the people of the United States” individually, as a people, and by the various departments and so on established for those purposes. I hope that all of you reading this realize that today the law is not being observed and enforced blindly (Lady Justice has a blindfold).
Our current President seemingly violates the law with impunity. Lying seems to be the accepted practice of the day and when caught the explanation is they “misspoke”. Scandal after scandal has transpired in the lives of President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton yet tens of millions of Americans seem to think that is just fine. Oh, America how far we have fallen and multiplied millions don’t have a clue. Many are mocking the law but be assured those who are mocking God will not be guiltless in the end, at the judgment, without repentance.
This holiday was initially known as Washington’s Birthday in honor of our first President, George Washington. In following years it also was a celebration of Presidents Washington and Lincoln. In 1971 the Uniform Monday Holiday Act was passed resulting in this holiday being on the third Monday of February and a celebration not only of perhaps our two most influential presidents, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln but all presidents. President George Washington was born February 22, 1732, and President Abraham Lincoln, born February 12, 1809. You may wonder if other Presidents were born in February and yes there are. William Henry Harrison our 9th President was born February 9, 1773, and Ronald Reagan our 35th President was born February 6, 1911 pictured below.
The following quotes are taken from the book “America’s God and Country Encyclopedia of Quotations.
From George Washington’s personal prayer book.
“Sunday Morning…Almighty God, and most merciful Father, who didst command the children of Israel to offer a daily sacrifice to Thee, that thereby they might glorify and praise Thee for Thy protection both night and day, receive O Lord, my morning sacrifice which I now offer up to Thee; I yield Thee humble and hearty thanks, that Thou hast preserved me from the dangers of the night past and brought me to the light of this day, and the comfort thereof, a day which is consecrated to Thine own service and for Thine own honour.
Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War.
“When everyone seemed panic-stricken…I went to my room…and got down on my knees before Almighty God and prayed…Soon a sweet comfort crept into my soul that God Almighty had taken the whole business into His own hands…
President William Henry Harrison March 4, 1841.
“I deem the present occasion sufficiently important and solemn to justify me in expressing to my fellow citizens a profound reverence for the Christian religion, and a thorough conviction that sound morals, religious liberty, and a just sense of religious responsibility are essentially connected with all true and lasting happiness.”
Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40th President in 1980 said;
“The time has come to turn to God and reassert our trust in Him for the healing of America…our country is in need of and ready for a spiritual renewal…”
Why did we stop choosing righteous men and women to office? As President Ronald Reagan asserted, it is time, it is past time, fortunately with God if a person is breathing it is never too late to come to awaken, come to full repentance as a Church, as a nation, to arise, tear down the high place, the false gods of the world systems, and walk in the triumph of the Gospel.
