AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK
Greetings to our friends and partners and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. If you look closely at the featured picture you will see a bridge and a dam in the distance. Just like the featured picture is a pretty picture, the enemy will sometimes paint a pretty picture and sometimes a bleak picture to get us off track. He picks the temptation he believes has the highest chance of success. He is after our thought life and our words. He will us one he has worked on us before, seen work on us or those before us (our family).
Let me tell you with certainty that we are on the cusp of the greatest uninterrupted awakenings to God (through His Rising Remnant). There have been many awakenings, revivals, down through the centuries. None lasted due to the complacency of God’s people. His people did not push forward to do the works Jesus did and the greater things. This nation is coming down on a firm foundation, the current established traditional organized Church is not. It will wind up as it started (Christianity). The end time Church (Rising Remnant) which turns the world upside down will be persecuted by elements in the world and the established Church, just as in Jesus day and that of the first century saints. Many people are waiting for, looking for, God to move and have been for 2000 years. All the while God has been waiting for a people who will believe His Word and do it. God does not have authority to move independent of His people in the earth. That authority, dominion, was delegated by God (plural) to mankind in the beginning and returned to mankind by The Word (Jesus) at His ascension to the right Hand of the Father. If this varies with what you believe or teach at your Church or denomination, just study the Word for yourself so you can rightly divide it, and find all the Truth. Let us plunge forward with all rejoicing. Church, people of God, let’s get our eyes off of flesh and blood and onto the work of the Kingdom. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:1-4 (KJV)
1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.
4 So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.
Looking back at this primary text we find ourselves at the first day of the week before sunrise. This little phrase “it was yet dark” is vitally important. On the Hebrew Calendar the first day of the week is Sunday not Monday as most of us consider the first day of the week on the Gregorian Calendar.
Matthew 12:39-40 (KJV)
39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Jesus tells the people He will be in the “heart of the earth” just as Jonah was in the belly of a whale three days and three nights. Notice there is a major difference between Jonah in the belly of the whale and “the Son of man” in the “heart of the earth”. Yes, Jesus body was in that grave near the Cross but He (spirit/soul) was not in the grave but the “heart of the earth”. I will discuss both of these issues. Good, good stuff! Let’s look at the Book of Jonah for the second witness.
Jonah 1:17 (KJV)
17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
The Jews or Hebrews measure a day from the evening to the next evening. So, the night is 6 pm to 6 am and the day 6 am to 6 pm whereas we start the new day at midnight, going midnight to midnight. We find this important information in the beginning, the so-called creation story.
Genesis 1:5 (KJV)
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Mary Magdalene arrives at the tomb before daylight (before 6 am) on the third day and He is already risen. More tomorrow!

2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
