THE JEW’S PASSOVER
Thursday – August 8, 2019, Av 7, 5779

Greetings to our wonderful and precious friends and partners of this Ministry and followers of this blog. None of you are taken for granted and are prayed for each day. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to “love” the teaching and “share” it. Thank you for partnering with us to spread the Truth. The featured pictures this week are of various scenes here in Maine and Friday will be of my help-meet and yours truly as usual. This particular picture today is looking from Mount Batti down onto the town of Camden and the bay. Donna and I speak the love of God to one and all. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and delve as deep as the Holy Spirit will take us today.
John 11:53-57 (KJV)
53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
54 Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.
55 And the Jews’ passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.
56 Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?
57 Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
As we review our primary text and specifically verse fifty-four, we find Jesus has gone “into a country” and “into a city called Ephraim”. This really not very far from Bethany or Jerusalem. As I spoke about yesterday the name of the city was conveying a message of Jesus, His mission, and what was provided for us all who receive Him. Also, we must never forget that Jesus did not say anything He did not hear the Father say, do anything He did not see the Father doing, and He had absolute faith that the Father would do the works. The Father never failed the faith, the love, and the obedience (part of love) of Jesus and neither will He fail us when we do it like Jesus. Therefore, Jesus is in Ephraim at the direction of the Father. Are we saying what the Father says, are we doing what we see the Father doing, and do we have unwavering faith that the Father will confirm His Word? Anything else is unbelief (sin) and is fear which results in torment. Who positioned us? Are we where we thought it best to be, or someone else thought it best for us to be, or are we where the Lord thought it best for us to be? This applies to every part of our lives.
Next we are told that Passover is at hand and many are already on their way to Jerusalem to prepare. They will cleanse their bodies in a Mikveh which is a stone basin with water. This is not required in the Law and thus a tradition of men. Jesus will surrender Himself on Passover, laying down His sinless life, taking our sin that we can freely choose to live to righteousness.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Thank you, thank you Lord Jesus, thank you Father, and thank you Holy Spirit (the eternal Spirit) who enabled Jesus (as He does us) in all things. Passover is one of seven (spiritual perfection or completion) commanded of God and are those properly referred to as the Feasts of the Lord. These Feasts of the Lord can be found in Leviticus chapters sixteen (mainly Day of Atonement) and chapter twenty-three. Isn’t it interesting there are seven Feasts of the Lord? Seven being the number of spiritual completion and these feasts being a prophetic picture of things to come, the spiritual perfection of mankind from a sinful state to a sinless state once again. I write, teach, about these feasts each year as the occur as an additional way of honoring Israel (which we are commanded to do) and educating ourselves about the significance of the whole Bible. As we study our primary Bible text, we find speculation among the Jews as to if Jesus will make an appearance at the Feast of Passover. Perhaps some even enjoyed the fireworks between the ruling religious Jews and Jesus. Yes, Jesus is coming and it will be something they will never forget and will be celebrated for eternity. There were wanted posters throughout Jerusalem for Jesus.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
