Greeting dear and precious saints of God, the Lord is so very good. As you are reading this Donna and I are returning to Maine from attending our granddaughter Kaitlyn’s wedding in San Antonio, Texas (that is if Jesus hasn’t come). The featured picture is of me ministering at a ministry assignment last year.

Over the last few weeks, the Lord has been dealing with me about explaining to the followers and partners of this Ministry the Scriptures listed at the beginning of each written blog. This will be a multipart teaching – discussion. I will start with the Isaiah passage which is rather lengthy. This is not a teaching of this text per se but this text as it relates to this Ministry. I will intersperse comments as we make our way down through the text.

Isaiah 50:1-9 (KJV)

1 Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

Comment: As many of you know, I am constantly pointing out that God is talking to His people most of the time not the world. The thing that has separated us from the promises of God is our very own iniquity. Our iniquity does not have to be robbing banks, raping, and pillaging. I many if not most cases it is believing a lie. Sincerely believing a lie does not change the outcome. A lie never produces the promises of God in our lives.

2 Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.

Comment: The problem is never on the Word or God side, it is always on our side. Sometimes as said in this verse we just plain are not listening for the answer to our situation. We don’t hear it (give it place) for it does not fit our tradition.

3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.

Comment: God does not give us blackness nor make us put on sackcloth but we ourselves in rebellion to the Truth. The following verses are to be taken as a unit as it concerns my call, this Ministry.

4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

5 The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

8 He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.

9 Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

Many years ago their was a certain Prophetess who came to a particular Church 2-3 times a year and she would prophesy that I had the tongue of the learned (verse four) to me on a regular basis. Finally, I looked up that phrase, “the tongue of the learned” and was brought here to the Isaiah passage. I came to understand that this was one of my giftings and this was to be what some call a life passage or passage of Scripture that was to at least in part to define my life.

Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
