AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Monday – February 8, 2021, Sh’vat 26, 5781
TOUCH ME NOT
Greetings dear and precious saints of God. We are such a privileged and loved people to be a part of the Kingdom of God, and saved from the wrath to come. Thank you, Jesus, that we are full partakers of your salvation! Please take a moment to share these teachings expanding the reach of the Truth. The featured picture this week is to portray the risen Jesus fully restored as the second person of the Triune God at the right hand of the Father. The picture is far from perfect, from what I wanted, but from perusing the internet it is obvious artists have no idea of Jesus’ position in Heaven. Jesus is King of kings and as such is seated in Heaven at the right hand of the Father. Jesus also stands as our High Priest, our Intercessor and Advocate, before the Father in Heaven. The Holy Spirit is our Intercessor in the earth. Our study of this Book of John has been wonderful thus far and we are far from done. Over the last few weeks, our study has brought us to the Cross, the primary reason Jesus (the Word) came into the earth. Now He is risen having taken our sin, our punishment, He was made a curse in our stead, redeeming us from the curse and restoring the Blessing (Galatians 3:13-14). The first person to see the risen Jesus is Mary Magdalene and we find her clutching His feet. Now, let’s dive into our lesson starting by reading our primary text aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:17-19 (KJV)
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
As you will recall we are on a little bit of a side trip but a very necessary side trip to connect all the dots. Jesus was fully God with all the attributes of God prior to the womb of the virgin Mary. Just before coming into the womb of Mary He laid aside all that made Him God and come into the world as a man, having to function as a man. He was Anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and Power, operated by faith, in love (agape), and as led of the Spirit. A sinless man (Jesus) had to pay the price for the sin of mankind (Adam). Jesus is known as the last Adam; you and I brother and sister are like the resurrected Jesus and not like Adam.

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
Wow, as He is today in Heaven so are, we in this world today. We must receive this Truth by faith and confess it building our faith. A huge problem in the Church today is not knowing who we are in Christ Jesus. A major difference between us and Adam is that we are free of the law of sin and death. When Adam (and Eve) sinned they died spiritually immediately, that is not true for us since the Cross.
Romans 8:2 (KJV)
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Thank you, Lord Jesus! If we sin, we have grace not that sin is okay with God, never was, never will be, but He made a way for us to stay in relationship in the presence of sin.
1 John 1:9 (KJV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
It is extraordinarily important that if we sin (no requirement to sin and we are not doomed to sin) to confess it immediately before God asking forgiveness and receiving forgiveness. Sin separates us in our fellowship with God and opens the door for the enemy to come in to steal, kill, and destroy. I realize I have not gotten back to our Hebrews Scripture that tells us at least some of the Words spoken by the Father in the full restoration of Jesus, so, let’s take a moment and review the following text.
Hebrews 1:4-6 (KJV)
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
