TRADITIONS, LIES, and TRUTH – PART NINE
Saturday – March 16, 2019, Adar B 9, 5779

Greetings dear saints of God and welcome back to this illuminating Bible Study of the corruptions that have crept into the thinking of the saints leaving us with a form of godliness. Currently I am addressing the idea of prayer and decrees or commands given by the believer. Keep in mind that God changes not, not after the fall in the Garden, not after Calvary, not after the Catching Away, not after the final battle at the end of the Millennial reign of Christ, and not in eternity future. That is a beyond wonderful part of the character, the unchanging nature of God. The Word of God is eternal but the curse is not and is done away with in the end. In the meantime, we are redeemed from the curse but have to exercise our God given, delegated, authority (dominion) over the curse, and God will provide the necessary Power (Blessing) Who is always present to enforce and confirm the Word of God in our mouths. As we are making this, really somewhat superficial transition from “prayer” to “commands” I want to take a moment and revisit the “Lord’s Prayer” and point out again that much of the Lord’s prayer are not requests but commands. Oh Lord, I can hear the gasps and heavy breathing from here. Take a look at the following verse in the Passion Translation.
Matthew 6:13 (PassionNTPsa)
13 Rescue us every time we face tribulation and set us free from evil. For you are the King who rules with power and glory forever. Amen.’
There is no asking or begging here, it is a professing of our Covenant right to be rescued from tribulation and evil. This occurs by the words of our mouth (His Words in our mouth) loosing the Power of God to act. The later part of the verse recognizes who is doing the work. Now I want to take us to another Scripture to address this issue of prayer and commands (given by the believer). This demonic doctrine must be knocked in the head and killed for it is leaving the Church absolutely powerless and the advancement of the Kingdom is severely hindered. Let’s see what brother James has to say.
James 5:16-20 (KJV)
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
The Greek word for pray in verses seventeen and eighteen are the exact same word used by Jesus in talking of the “Lord’s Prayer”. The Greek word for prayer in verse sixteen is different and has to do with getting the mind of God before acting. A effectual fervent prayer is an bold energetic speaking without any hint of timidity, done by a man (or woman) in right standing with God makes much power available. What is the power available for? The Word of God on a man’s lips uttered in faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit releases the Power of God to accomplish the will of God. We don’t speak in faith it just plain doesn’t get done. Why do we think verses nineteen and twenty are here? James by the inspiration (Anointing) of Holy Spirit is saying to those and to us that we have erred. We stopped praying, doing the will of God like Elijah and Elijah was just like us. Elijah was not Deity, he was a man of like passions as us, yet he moved the Hand of God. Failing to pray, exercise authority as directed of God from the creation is sin. When a person is converted or given light in this area and repentance occurs the Blood of Jesus will cover a multitude of sin. It is sin asking God to do what is our responsibility. Elias is Elijah, so let’s take a look at his prayer.
1 Kings 17:1 (KJV)
1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
According to whose word? We know that Elijah spoke the Word of God for God performed the words of Elijah’s mouth. Of Lord, hair on fire, here comes the fire extinguishers and perhaps a pitchfork or two. Now let’s see about the end of the drought.
1 Kings 18:1 (KJV)
1 And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.
Who is the “word of the LORD”?
1 Kings 18:41 (KJV)
41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
1 Kings 18:45-46 (KJV)
45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
46 And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
Where is the asking and the begging?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
